44,000 dollars! Add 1,000 dollars for destination. 3,000 to 4,000 for taxes. My dealership is asking 5,000 dollars ADM. 53,000 dollars for a Civic? It’s an awesome car but is it 53,000 dollars awesome? Holy shit!

Golf R isn’t tarted up like anime fap bait.

Civic R will sell all they have at $54k+ to kids of rich parents.

If they came out with a new S-2000, I'd consider it. Same for a NSX type R. For 50 K, I'd raid my bank account so fast they'd think I robbed it.

I have a 2020 Civic Type R.  It's a special car in a few areas:

- handling / cornering is off the charts.  Not sure how they got it dialed in so well, but it begs to be pushed into the corners.
- brakes are fantastic as well
- 6-speed manual is snick-snick-snick short and sporty
- seats are also fantastic

None of the above is $50k+ fantastic, though.  $40k.  Yeah.  $45k.  Maybe.

And they can take that ADM and shove it.  I hunted around a bit and bought at MSRP.

#1 on the list at my dealer @ MSRP. Will trade the current model in.

I don't know anything about them. Are they fast? Hopped up motor? Looking at the Golf R they are obviously are made to compete with eachother. I'm a huge AWD fan so I'd go that way if I were in the market but they are all too spendy for me.

Golf R is probably a better choice if you want a more refined car with leather, less outrageous looks.

Civic Type R is goofy looking, but will out handle a Golf R and only available in FWD.  306 HP and adjustable suspension, huge brakes.

If you bought an S2000 new when they were available. Adjusted for inflation with real numbers it wouldn’t be far off of 50K

So...priced like a GR Supra 3.0 and ugly as fuck-all!. Honda has sucked rhinoceros balls since '01. The last real Civic was the '96-'00 series. Everything since would have made Mr. Hoinda have a heart attack. The last two Civic designs were done by one of the lead designers 9 year old children.

Inflation and supply chain issues are some evil bitches  The price for pretty much every new model coming out is considerably higher than anyone expected.

Funny enough, the $37k I paid for my old Focus RS in 2017... inflation adjusted falls right at the price of this Type R.. $44k.

Was looking at a 22 Mach 1 fully loaded with handling pack.

Could not get them to ditch the 5k ADM.  After taxes it would have been near 80k.

Decided to keep my low miles 2015 GT PP and will just modify it once off of warranty.

1999 EK9 new was about $20k usd in Japan

$50k will import a really clean legit EK9 and still have plenty of cash left to build and track the car.

Nice examples of DC2 ITR’s have already eclipsed $50k but can be found for less.

The new CTR is fugly:(

If I could get a Civic Si with the R motor, that's what I'd be driving right now.  But, as it is, it's a snooze on the 200hp Si motor and I'd be the laughing stock of my neighborhood with all the fast & furious shit all over my car if I was in the R.
