He reaches across his desk while his gut pours over his belt, only to find the last of his mid morning snack is gone. "MOM I NEED SOME MORE GODDAMN CHEETOS" he yells up the basement stairs.

She just reminded me of my 95 year old grandmother who is losing her cognitive abilities. She lives alone, so she tends to isolate herself, doesn’t feed herself properly, won’t maintain her hygiene, etc. Thankfully, family was able to move close, and now she has someone coming by to check in on her, make sure she gets to church, gets some food, gets out to the hair dresser, etc. It’s helped her tremendously. |
