Stompers..... you set up the track. You flicked the switch and let them go. If they didn't make it you turned the switch off and adjusted the track. You did that till they climbed the most badass mountain your 9-10 y/r old tush could build.

There were plenty of radio controlled things like that then.  The cool thing about them is that they were not radio controlled.

An actual 3-month summer break from school

Cypress Gardens Dick Pope Jr. water skis

Candy that costs 1 cent each

The old Mad Magazine

Mixed tapes

Only ever owned Rangers. ‘90, ‘94, and ‘11. 4 bangers on the early ones, stepped up to a 6 cyl and 4FWD when I bought the ‘11. Only thing I don’t like about the ‘11 is I couldn’t find one with a stick to save my life.

When it finally dies, I hope to hell they’ve resurrected the line, otherwise I’m buying a Toyota, assuming those don’t suck by then.

Free time.  Theft through inflation has caused all the good people to work twice as much.  Parents hardly raise their kids anymore. Modern life is exhausting and stressful because of it.

The sense of security from a high-trust, homogenous society reflected before the 1965 immigration law radicalization.

Fights that didn’t even think about escalating to murder. Now everyone jumps to extreme violence so good old fights are gone and all that steam with no relief valve builds pressure cooker people.

Tarring and feathering.
