We had an seriously intense thunderstorm the night before last. Tons of lightning and hail. My cat Jack Bauer got spooked by a really loud thunder clap and bolted out the front door.



His timing was terrible as the hail that was falling had just gone from marble size to goofball size.. I don't know of you have ever seen hail that big, but it bounces like 5 feet off the ground and sounds like someone hitting your roof with a sledge hammer.

So Jack ran out into the hail storm. Predictable things happened. I witnessed at least 3 golfball or larger sized pieces of hail hit him in the head. To be honest, he wasn't really moving much after the first one so he was kind of an easy target. He got pelted pretty good tho.

When the storm lightened up a bit I went out and scooped him off the lawn. We got him inside and it took a bit of coaxing but we got him to wake up. We were pretty excited.



The problem is the hail stones seem to have knocked him all stupid looking. We figured it would kind if resolve itself but it's been almost 2 days and he still looks ridiculous. My kids are starting to ask if the cat is broken. Does anyone know how long this is supposed to last?

I thought about calling the vet, but figured I could get better advice from  some real cat professionals on here. Plus it's super windy and my pants are a little damp so that would be super uncomfortable.
