It wasn't near as bad as I expected it to be but you have to understand how low my expectations were. I hesitated even with it being free. |

I remember seeing the trailer/commercial for Gemini Man
I wanted to see it, but I don't go to theaters (wait for streaming or Redbox) The credits are rolling now.... I'm glad I didn't "pay" to see it. lots of over the top bs action, and too much/readily apparent CGI... It was great to see Cartagena; I was pretty much everywhere they showed, in the old town/wall last year. on a side note, I fell in lust with Danielle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).. and I don't really dig chicks with short hair... |

Utopia...
Holy cow, I just randomly started this show this morning, 3 episodes in and it's pretty freakin good! https://youtu.be/dFSKBllxRIw So far it's this cult comic book that predicts a pandemic and a group of conspiracy theorists trying to save the world kinda? So far no B.S. love story crap or "The world's falling apart around us but we're all just gonna sit in this single room and talk about it because we don't have the budget to show it" kinda stuff. |

Gemini Man - Cases that fell on the floor were rifle cases, and he was shooting a pistol. Like other great snipers, he could shoot a passenger thru a window in a speeding bullet train from 2000 yards and keep his scope on target as the train sped across his field of view (this is amazing, since his scope looked about 72X from the image but about 10X from it's size).
Overall, this film was weakly interesting. Co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead was chosen over my favorite actress, Tatiany Maslany, before Maslany hit it big with Orphan Black, another show which dealt with cloning humans. This bit of trivia was provided by Amazon at the end. |

Castle Keep
1969 movie directed by Sydney Pollack starring Burt Lancaster, Patrick O'Neal, Bruce Dern, and Peter Falk. Rated R, somewhat surrealist movie about a scratch unit defending a castle near Bastogne in WWII. Very funny dialogue, occasional bouts of weirdness. Imagine the Dirty Dozen but with lectures on fine art and brief fantasy sequences. The rose garden battle was pretty epic. "Has the dubious distinction of being one of the very few war movies that is both pro and anti war at the same time" |

I noticed that Terminator: Dark Fate was recently Primed so I watched it tonight.
It sucked! I did not find any of the characters to be likable and way too much CGI. Well, at least it was free except for the 2 hrs of my life that I’ll never get back. I’ll avoid the spoilers but it’s sad when the Resident Evil movies turn out to be a better series than the Terminator movies. |

We started watching Line of Duty.
BBC police series. It is decent--keeps us entertained for an hour. |

Here’s something to keep your eye on. Sounds more promising than the Jack Ryan series. Amazon reference is at the 11 minute mark -

Just released and it was surprisingly good! It'll cost you $18 though.

(?) View Quote Click To View Spoiler Totally invalidated the rest of the movie, and they didn't "play fair" by dropping any hints. The writers ran out of money and/or talent and tacked on a generic twist ending. Movie should have starred and been about the second prototype robot. Too human to be a happy robot, too robot to be a happy human. In love with the male lead who treated it like shit. Dust in the room when it walked into the lake, but male lead (and the writers) gave about one tenth of one fuck when it disappeared and promptly forgot about it. Great direction and acting by body language from the actor who got motion captured for that. Also WTF moment when he was skeeved out by sexy realistic wife robot climbing into bed. He was dancing with it in the previous scene and I guarantee he installed a pneumatic pussy in that thing, where did he think their relationship was going exactly? Finally, you don't introduce an enormous handgun and badass leather Gestapo jacket combat robots with hover gunships just to avoid the climactic firefight with a telephone call, especially one that turns the entire movie into a dream. That felt like $10 million in financing fell through and they had to wrap it up in a hurry with something scribbled on a napkin. |
