I was trying to remember why did we get them from Bush? Was it a claimed budget surplus? Nope. It was an effort to ward off a recession. |

Quoted: Same old shit because I'm right. Trump did the exact same thing. Print money, hand it out, and try to buy votes. Fuck, he even wanted his name on the checks. View Quote |

Quoted: Quoted: If there is money available, you'd be a fool to not take it, but $1,400 isn't that much money. It would barely cover 1 truck payment for some with very little left over to buy gas with. |

Direct payments to individuals is the dumbest idea. That drives inflation faster than just about anything. As people are likely to spend it all vs save anything.
We need the Fed rate to stay this high or higher and stop handing out money to individuals. If you're going to do a stimulus it needs to be direct investment in infrastructure and other items to make workers more productive only. |

Already posting about what one wants to spend their socialism checks on at this stage is a weird flex and quite telling, especially for so called ‘conservatives’ or people who are anti socialism and communism. It appears that’s lost on you. |

but Biden and his ilk told us Bidenomics fixed the failed Trump economy.

They must have very little confidence that the Fed will cut rates before Election Day, so they are moving to plan B - more free money! Which will of course require the Fed to hike rates, but that wouldn’t happen until after the election so who cares.

Quoted: Quoted: The only stimulus package we need is Donald Trump. Shit, Biden learned it from Trump. Comparing apples and oranges? The stimulus under Trump was necessary because of the Covid shutdown. I won’t debate how necessary the shutdown was but even that was not controlled by Trump. State governors and the unelected bureaucracy made most of the decisions. Congress woukd not give Trump what he wanted. They passed more than he requested and told him take it or leave it. How soon people forget what happened. |

Let's hope America ain't completely retarded and remembers what the last 1400 dollar check did to us.
Unbelievable these ass hats are proposing more inflation spending . |

If Biden says the economy is so great why do we need a stimulus package?

Quoted: Still waiting for some foreign country to land a cargo plane at a US airport and start handing out wads of cash to US citizens. View Quote China has been doing something like that. They are not as blatant about giving the money to their friends in the US. Among their friends are schools, political "action" groups and of course politicians. I think one of them is known as The Big Guy. Not sure who that is but it could be .. |

While I could certainly use $1400, I don't want it. It's not healthy for the economy. It will show good results in the short term, but once it's gone, the bill comes due. If this is true, that these checks are planned to come out, it will show the economy has rebounded for a few months, giving Biden a boost in the election. He'll pick up 3-5pts.
And that's all it is. It's a vote buying scheme. Look, I've been disabled since 2001, and my total income for a year is only $14,000, and I would use it to pay off a credit card that I've closed out. But, I don't want it. It's hurtful to the economy and the workers of our country. |

Quoted: That won't make inflation worse at all! View Quote 2nd thought is, do I take it? I mean, if they issues this, its going to cause inflation, me holding out will not help it. So I might as well be broke, but broke with 14hundo. I could use it for the next two weeks groceries... |

JFC. Inching towards UBI.
Fucking millennial at work still doesn't comprehend how the COVID stimulus/unemployment+bonus 18 month vacation caused everything to get so expensive, he just thinks it's greedy grocery stores. I explained the whole thing to him, nobody worked, everybody spent money that didn't really exist, supply/demand, devaluation, inflation. Nope it's just greedy grocers. But then the older guys deny that all those shitty COVID policies started under Trump. It's really something. Lack of logic and an inability to comprehend cause and effect relationships. |

I guess it'll be kinda neat paying for groceries with one-billion-dollar bills.

Kicking the can down the road to generation Delta?

Buying back restaurant owners that got crushed during COVID by restrictions that were unlawful and not scientifically valid.
I hope people remember the early days of the Administration where Dr Faux-Chi was on TV more than the president. |

b...bu....but Biden keeps telling us that unemployment is at 0, inflation is now in the negative, everyone is a bazillionaire, and the economy is the strongest it has ever been. If what he says is true, then why does he want to send government assistance checks to everyone?

Quoted: About 50% do not pay federal income taxes so cut taxes for those who pay it. End the nonsense where wealthier people don't benefit from tax credits or other handouts. Would work just like the last stimmy checks. The only thing I will get is more of my money stolen and the bill for the resulting inflation. FJB and Trump.
