For me it was a stainless 10-22 with a Butler Creek folding stock. Eventually I found a used rifle in great shape & got it set up just how I wanted when I was a kid. Shooting this thing still brings a smile to my face as I flashback to 80s nostalgia & simpler times. Now I’m just fighting off the urge to SBR it.

The Linda pistol from Wilkinson Arms and the High Standard Model 10

I wanted a m1carbine pistol like the sidekick on The Equalizer.
I wanted m1a and AR like the ones I got with a GI Joe set in the 70s. I also thought the ARs the guys in the first SWAT tv show had were cool |
|
Mini-14 that had been dragged through a Cabela's catalog of accessories.
|
|
Thompson, ever since I grew up watching “Combat” with Vic Morrow.
|
|
FNC from heat of course
A transferable one isn’t ridiculously expensive. |

I remember wanting an AR15 badly. Eventually, I got one. Now I have several.

Colt Ar-15 Delta Elite. The one with the rubber coated scope, and the cheek riser on the stock. Back in the 80s, my dads Guns and Ammo magazines were filled with pictures of that thing, wanted one bad.
Handguns, a Mac10. |

I thought the Remington 30-06 deer rifle with the shiny wood was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen

Had the 10/22 with Butler Creek folder the OP mentioned. It was awesome. I ordered the stock C.O.D., back when that was a thing for mail order.
Pretty much have acquired most of what I wanted, except for a Daewoo with a collapsible stock. I have a shitload of 80’s era guns.... |
|
A Marlin model 39, a model 336, and an Ithaca model 37 20 gauge.
Those more than filled my needs. I couldn't buy any of them. |
|
I have had most of the ones I wanted- never got a galil or a spas. The galil should have been cool but they spas- not so much

As I got older I learned which of my dream guns were not worth owning

Got a mini-14 when I was in 10th grade, wanted an AR, but the price back in 1980 was nuts.

Tommy gun, PPK, and a Calico 9mm.
When I grew up and got to operate those I wound up not liking any of them. |
|
S&W Model 29
Remington 7400 Marlin 336 H&K91 M-14/M-1A Colt SAA Ironically, the closest I've come to buying that stuff is a Marlin 30AS, and Ruger Redhawk and New Vaquero. |
|
German Luger - because I thought it was a truly iconic shape. I still want one.
A Dirty Harry style revolver. A straight grip lever action. A desert eagle. I only ever got the desert eagle. |
|
Quoted: Spas-12. Had one. That thing was a serious piece of shit. View Quote Was going to say that. I never owned one, but used to be on great terms with the LGS, could sign out most any used firearm in inventory to play with. Found the SPAS was heavy, complicated to run, and pretty much useless. Cool, but useless. |

M1 Garand check
1911A1 check UZI (bought a semi auto, and sold it) Desert Eagle (video game and movie influences I grew out of) M4 check. Or at least an AR15 Ak47. Check or at least a semi AKM. I watched too many action movies |

Marlin Camp 9. Have one now.
Webley revolver. Got one got my birthday. |

Quoted: Double View Quote That appears to be an M12 S from what I can see in the pic (selector lever instead of the two buttons (selector and safety) the original M12 had. One damn nice SMG, no idea how many transferrables there are on the registry. AWC used to make a can for them that was mounted on a compatible barrel nut. Effective, but 12" long and heavy. The M3 I had never worked. Of course, that was during the infancy of the Internet, so there wasn't much support in getting stuff to work. Never owned an SMLE. |
