I know we are supposed to not like/support Troy, but besides that, whats GD think of this? I've always had an interest in a retro build/clone like this...

They can keep it, I dont care how cheap it is.
And I'll keep my money. |

Just wait for the colt line or build one. Colt retro line was announced a while back so they will be here eventually.

Frankly I don't see the point. Unless you're completely new to building then it's easier to do yourself. Could be nice just to buy a complete rifle though. Knob on the carry handle, shouldn't it be visible?
That flash hider looks a little wonky for a clone. Retro guns sure are cool though. Original is always fun for nostalgia. You never know what you're gonna find with so many places building rifles now! |
|
I don't have any retro stuff, but I'd rather build something on a receiver set from nodak spud.

Meh I would gladly take one. Spent money on commie guns and its anyones guess how that money gets used. 30 years ago people would have the same feeling about that .

The Troy GAU-5/5 retro is damn cool. The Colt will be nice as well, but that Troy made the AF version was pretty sweet. All it was really missing was the hamfisted method of changing the model designation on the lower.

As usual with Colt they will take their time unfortunately. |

Take the stupid 'moderator' off and put in a period correct FH

I have a huge hard-on for retro stuff but not from them. And, I believe the XM177 had a delta ring.

I'd buy an SBR version with a standard A1 birdcage. I've always wanted a "Heat" carbine.

|
I wouldn't give Troy the sweat off balls if they were dying of thirst.

Mine is flawless, you can leave the engraving off and have a pony put on it. It is not perfect but close enough unless you are a super retro guy. Do your own research on troy. The colt will be over $2500 and who knows when it will come out.

Even without the baggage that company has, $1200 for that rifle is absurd. You could buy a PSA rifle, and mount a Krieger barrel onto it for less money.

I find it funny that you all boycott Troy but can't wait for Norinco's and Russian guns.
Strange world |
|
Where are they getting their A1 rear sight parts ? I'm building a Colt 9mm DEA integrally suppressed clone and seems all the rear sight parts sets have dried up.

No, thanks.
In before the staff shills? Looks like I'm not. |
