Like Chernobyl  meltdown soon or something you know will fuck up power/supplies/ etc. Real apocalypse type scenario.

You're at the grocery store. You can get one cart of anything. Prolbably the last time you'll see a stocked shelf that hasnt been looted.

What do you fill your cart with from the grocery store?

Personally I would just do my usual grocery shopping. Then go someplace where I can watch this all play out.

Is this Chernobyl a thousand miles away and I'll lose power, or is it in my town and I'm at risk for radiation?

Cuz if the latter I'm leaving the grocery store, grabbing my GTFO stuff and heading north.

Thats fuckin awesome! In college, I was known to eat bowls of that chili for breakfast in my underwear strumming a guitar between bites. My friends thought i was strange.

No if he had learned from the pandemic he would have bought 2 big packs of micro fiber rags and a few gallons of bleach for washing them. Thats what I did, but never needed it. For 20 bucks it cost I would have been good for a year or more.

Am I needing to hide from radiation for two weeks? If not my cart is loaded with chunky soups and canned vegetables. If I do have to hide I'd be filling it with bottled water. I already have a lot of food at home and go shopping like every 2 months lol.

If this is "end of the world, civilization ain't coming back for years" then there's nothing you can put in a grocery cart that's going to get you past Month 1 of said collapse. You should have planned ahead with super-long-term foods if you're prepping for the next civilization.

If this is "temporary disaster, you're going to shelter down for a couple months" then get things that spoil but are nice to have, and you won't be seeing again for a half-year. Punch up your drinks that give hydration, vitamins, and supplements... shelf-stable juices, vitamin/hydration drinks, and fresh fruits & veggies that stay for a long time (apples, etc.). Might as well spend like a champ and get some prime beef cuts, because you aren't gonna see those for a while. Have a nice last month of grilling!

Oh, and peanut butter, almond butter, jams and jellies, and long-shelf-life Triscuits/crackers/ and other bread-y stuff like there's no tomorrow. Trust me on the peanut butter.

But mostly, I'm packing the truck with cash, guns, clothing, and food and headed to whatever relative's house isn't in the path of winds blowing fallout.

Canned goods. Rice. Beans. Basically just running my hand down the selving unit at let it all fall into my cart. Gotta love spam. Beef jerky.

Pharmaceuticals. Vitamins. Pain killers. Disinfectants. First aid shit.

Water. Lots of it. Salt. Peanut butter.

Batteries. Lighters. All of them.

But lets be honest. Most of us probably got stuck in the post panic gridlock and had to abandon their car full of groceries to procede on foot.

I'd buy some perishables; milk, etc since it's probably the last time we'll have them. Quickly, then bolt.

If you've prepped properly, you just want to get home or bug out location asap.

All the cigarettes they have

Don't need more food, but those will trade for alot of extras.
