Note to self: I hope I never wind up in a situation where I have to hire a PR firm.

I guessing Missouri is an at will state. As an un-tenured assistant prof she has less job protection than most McDonald's workers.

On another note, Columbia University is probably getting a position open for her.

If they require some "muscle" to get her out of her office, I'm sure she knows some.

Sadly, it took lots of former donors calling and saying "no more $$" and the state legislature threatening to cut their funding to get them to do the right thing. The usual suspects will scream racism. Meh. View Quote This. As a Mizzou Alum, I've been calling once a month to remind them that I will no longer support them via the Alumni Association, nor the Athletics Dept ($XX,XXX in advertising/year). She will sue and win. Unfortunately, this is 100% correct. I'm sure there is a village someplace missing their idiot. I doubt we've heard the last of this wretched twat. And just think of all the impressionable young minds she poisoned while "teaching" her drivel ?? |

She will sue and win. Unfortunately, this is 100% correct. That lawsuit won't go very far in Missouri. She is a state employee who was apparently fired because of (what she will claim) is 1st amendment expression while she was not "at work" and appears to have been without the due process she is required to have according to state rules/laws. She will sue, and they will probably pay her millions (of taxpayers money) to quietly go away. |

That's nice. But I've seen lots of lawsuits against universities, and what will happen is that: She will sue, and they will settle to make her go away. |

Does anyone doubt she's going to be immediately hired by Berkeley or the like, and skip straight to the head of their tenure line?

The only mitigating factor I see is if her guilty plea to some charge(s) to settle her assault charge provides some sort of mitigating factor allowing her termination. I'm glad she's fired, but I also hope whoever made the decision consulted with the school's attorney first. |

I'm not surprised by anything these days, but the school took their time and (it appears, anyway) made sure they had a solid case against her before dropping the academic ban hammer. I'm thinkin' it'll stick, and rightly so. |

This is what I can't get my 21 year old son to understand. He thinks everything is hunkydory, no problemo, whatever; there's no real difference between anyone, it's just politics. Unlike me, he hasn't seen the world, and especially America, change for the worse over the last 40 years. And worse than that, it's accelerating. The good news is that I won't be around to deal with the shit that's certainly coming up in the next 20-30 years. But he will most probably will. Back to the thread: I hope this bitch sues and loses - bad. |
