Here in WA for the past couple weeks and ran into Mighty Mouse Johnson at a farmers market in Puyallup.  Nice guy,  short as hell.  Lived in Vegas for 8 years and have yet to run into any other fighters.

No,  that wasn't me.  Close,  though.  He was with his wife and daughters,  just said hi,  nice to meet you and shook his hand.  Told him I didn't wanna bother him while he was with his family.

Anybody else have Fight Pass?  When I first signed up the offerings were a little slim but now they've really bulked up the past fight library.  Plus PPVs are usually available to watch within 30 days.  Putting a fight like dos Anjos v. Alvarez is pretty sweet.  The whole card tomorrow is actually pretty decent.

OH FOR FUCKS SAKE.

Jon Jones informed of potential USADA violation.  Fight with Daniel Cormier is off the card.

This comes from a USADA test from 6/16.  No news of what substance he was flagged for.  According to the press conference, the results just come out.

The fight is already removed from the fight card.

I think the Tate v. Nunes should be the main event, it is a title fight.

Actually there's been so much "open ended answers" I think nobody ever really wrote it off.  And what's more, news like this should really comes as no surprise to anybody.  Jones wrecked his Bently, took cocaine during a fight camp, crashed into a pregnant lady while high, etc. etc. etc.  And there's a lot more stuff about him that's not really been substantiated but where there's smoke, there's fire.  At this point it's almost laughable.  UFC fighters don't get paid shit compared to equally popular/skilled athletes in any of the other big 4 American sports.  He's left money on the table and gotten dropped by big name sponsors.  Being called an idiot doesn't even begin to describe him.

This really makes you wonder about USADA.  Obviously they are catching guys but what's the deal?  The test was administered on June 16th.  They haven't even tested the B sample yet.  How can they take 3 weeks to run a test and then given notice this close to the fight?  USADA and the UFC know that fighters are automatically pulled off the card when there's a doping violation, why wouldn't USADA have the test results done faster than 3 nights before the fight?  How long does it take to run illegal drug and PED tests?

My Judo buddy ended up playing black jack with him for an hour or so in Vegas about six years ago. He echoed the same sentiment, that he's a laid back dude that keeps it real with the fans. When I have kids, I hope I can still point to MMA Fighters as good role models, like good ole Hendo.

Plus it's retested after a positive before notice is given. The B sample is only tested after notification and the athlete is given the choice to have a rep present.

I guess my question was, why did they time it that way?  Either test at different time intervals or get the results back so at least it gives the UFC an opportunity to rework the card.  It's not like it's a surprise when this happens.  A positive tests means a fighters is pulled.  I guess I'm just struggling with the timing and I feel like USADA hasn't been completely smooth sailing since they stepped in.  There have been some issues already.

Part of me wants to say "kick Jones out of the UFC" and the other part of me wants to think that USADA is making shit up as they go.

I'm going to wait and get more info before I pass judgement on Jones.  Look at Frank Mir.  Listening to his side of the story about his failed USADA test tells me something is fucky with that organization.  He's in the process of trying to appeal his decision because it's been found that a bunch of baseball players have been found to test positive for same thing and it's been found to be bullshit.

But if Jones tested positive for Coke again, then fuck him.  If it's trace metabolites of a possible precursor to a form of anabolics or some bull shit, then USADA needs to be replaced or overhauled.  Just look at the list of over the counter supplements you can get (all on USADA's website) that are banned substances because because they have some ingredient that they say are steroids or stimulants.

It's his trainers. All the UFC guys dope. Every one of them. But their trainers know how to time the cycles, what substances to use, etc. it's an art. Looks like Jones' trainers messed up and he got popped. For a guy that should have the best trainers and steroid guys, that's a big mess up.

It's his trainers. All the UFC guys dope. Every one of them. But their trainers know how to time the cycles, what substances to use, etc. it's an art. Looks like Jones' trainers messed up and he got popped. For a guy that should have the best trainers and steroid guys, that's a big mess up.

With his past you are making a huge assumption it is performance enhancing.  It could be.  But then again with his past...

Wow unbelievable,  this card just tanked in my eyes.
Was going to order it but not anymore.  Might swing by a bar or something.

Yup, I was looking it over last night.  It looks like they will all be solid fights.

Had not seen this.  I have no idea.  Jones is a total waste of serious raw talent.  That guy is a head case and still the best fighter in the world.  I hope he squanders every dime has to resort to pumping gas or washing cars.
