UFC 211:  Miocic v. Dos Santos

I had tickets but had to give them to a buddy because I have to go to a family function in Florida.  First UFC event in Dallas that I won't attend.

eta:  ...and I can't even own a page, correctly

That really sucks.

Cejudo v. Pettis just fell out due to Cejudo *hand injury* but it's still a stacked card.

Updated UFC 211 card.

Henry Cejudo pulled out of fight with Sergio Pettis due to hand injury/cyst/possible ligament damage.

Everyone made weight! One of the fights on the undercard was scrapped due to a fighter having food poisoning.

MY picks for the big fights:

And still....
And still....
Maia
Rodriguez
Poirier

The whole card will be great!

Sad we have to take this approach.  Hard to imagine a guy with such natural talent who continually proves he literally cannot manage his life and is ok with losing 10s of millions of dollars in the process.

He did a few interviews this week saying it's a lot less pressure.  Sure he might want to be on the PPV but now that he's no longer champ I doubt he gets PPV points.  The prelims remember are on FX, not FS1.  This will be a bigger audience and better numbers.  If he has any sponsors he'll have better reach.

Prelims on FX in 7 minutes.  Don't miss it.  All 4 fights should be fantastic.

I just go the firestick a few weeks ago, as far as I know it's the newest model.  I just can't seem to find a stream that works...

Do you have the Pro Sport add on?  It scrapes the Reddit forum... (/r/mmastreams) and should provide you with several links... I typically use reddit to find Acestreams, as I like them...

What version of Kodi are you using?

Man, that was the 2nd stoppage that I think took way to long.

Not a bad fight though.

Now the Poirier fight... looking forward to this one

Ref should've called the first illegal knee.

At that point it probably would have only been a point deduction.

Dude, Alvarez has been fighting a long time, and is a true pro.. he is NOT a dirty fighter.  I think it should have been a DQ (admittedly, I'm a huge Poirier fan)... but Alvarez is absolutely not a dirty fighter.

Let me rephrase. He was a dirty fighter in this fight.

He threw at least 2 illegal knees. The second one was so Blantant too

I think both of them were still on auto-pilot from walking KO's.
I don't think either one of them were doing a damn thing consciously at that point.

I don't think I've ever seen him fight dirty.

Love me some Frankie Edgar, I wanted him to fight McGregor.  I think he is the worst matchup for McGregor. His wrestling is too good and he knows how to weather the storm...

Great night all around. Joanna has now completely cleared out her division, the only person that is a threat has lost to her...twice. Miocic has almost cleared his division too, the only immediate threat/person he hasn't beaten yet is Cain. And as always it seems lately, Cain is still injured. The middleweight divisions should become a bit more clear over the next couple months, I'm looking forward to Romero hammersmashing  Bisping and getting their division rolling again. Conor needs to relinquish both of his belts since he's not interested in defending them and let those divisions get moving again too.

Joanna will go on to pass the Rhonda record, which is so deserved by her. She's amazing in every aspect.

Stipe will pass the defense record in his next fight, I don't see it being an issue.
I think his biggest threat will be Cain or Frances Ngannou.

I'm guessing Stipe's next fight is Cain when he's back in the fall.
The next contenders are Werdum & Reem, no one is excited to seem them KO'd again. I'd bet Ngannou fights the winner of Reem/Werdum.

What a time to be alive! Cleveland is proud!

Not much but I'm really glad Rory took the time off to heal his nose and brain trauma from the Bob Lawler fight.  But part of me is really bummed he's not in the UFC anymore.

Bellator certainly has some depth in their 155 and 170 divisions but make no mistake, the most talented fighters are in the UFC.  Things are turning a bit with Bellator's recent free agent signings but they have a long long ways to go to really be competitive.  That's not to take away anything from Rory.  Daley is a top tier fighter and I imagine he's still be in the UFC if he hadn't got frustrated and sucker punched that douche canoe Koscheck.

As much as I can't stand Koscheck... that was one of the biggest douchebag moves I have ever seen in my life.  Maybe Daley figures he has no shot in the UFC, so he'll start showcasing his acting for WWE.
