The 30x170mm APDS is better than 25mm APDS and worse than 25mm APFSDS so if it killed anything from the front they got lucky and hit something that wasn’t meant to take a round.

I'm skeptical of anything like this taking out a T62 or T55 from the front. Stopping large caliber cannon rounds from the front is obviously the one thing that an MBT is designed to do. There are reports of T55s getting taken out in Iraq 1 by the Bushmaster on the Bradley but to me these all sound like urban legend stuff. I don't see how it is technically possible
Then again who knows. Maybe its legit

This is the exact argument that the Soviet WW2 tank fanbois use to discredit the mighty German tanks, and the German fanbois use this argument to discredit the Soviet tanks too

But truthfully, there were a lot of reports of captured tanks in the 67, 73 and 83 wars that showed QC defects were definitely real, but it was hard to gauge how widespread

The only reason those were a thing was that the Luftwaffe mandated that all AA guns had AP self defense rounds and so the Flak 18/36 got AP as part of its design. Who knew the 88 would be such a huge leap ahead in the arms race before the arms race even really started?

I do have fond memories of playing on armored vehicles at parks and always gravitated toward tanks

I wish we had more of that stuff out and about for kids to see in their daily lives
