We all know the basics, but what do you guys like on your pizza that isn't considered a "traditional" pizza topping.
For me, there is a regional chain here called donatos that offers Nashville style hot chicken. I also like grilled chicken for a chicken parm themed pizza. I also prefer salami over pepperoni on pizza. |
|
Substitute light ranch for pizza sauce.
Top with bacon, red onion, chives, cheddar cheese and hash browns. |
|
A place near me has a bacon ranch pizza that is insanely good.
|
|
|
Clams and garlic with pesto is awesome, but tough to find in my area.
|
|
My local pizza place has a lasagna pizza. No pasta, but lasagna sauce that's a bit different then their pizza sauce, lasagna meat, mix of ricotta and mozzarella.

Fold it over and cut it. Its awesome. |

I work on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Common for the people there to pour Catalina salad dressing on their pizza. It ain’t bad. Grew up less than an hour away from there and had never heard of it.

Is it odd how threads on the same type topics come in groups? Do people think they read it somewhere else and think it would be a neat one to start here?

Chicken bacon ranch, chicken alfredo, buffalo chicken, salami, seasoned beef.
Ranch or alfredo sauce make the thin crust really nice and crunchy, but not burnt. The local pizza joints here do a really good job. ETA Taco pizza as well |
|
one place has a chicken marsala pizza thats awesome.
I don't mind macaroni on some either. also like bbq chicken and buffalo pizza but some chains carry those to. so not sure that would count. big louie's here has walnuts, though never tried that topping. pineapple is very common and I actually like it now. |

Local place here does prosciutto and fig that's quite good, as well as chicken alfredo, chicken bacon ranch, and "the whole hog" with sausage, ham, pepperoni, and pork belly is really good too.
A different place does one with alfredo sauce, baby spinach and slices of roma tomatoes that is pretty good but only if you get it on thin crust, as it's a pretty subtle flavor and is lost on a thicker crust. |

Shrimp and smoked oyster pizza at Chico's Pizzeria, Moses Lake, WA, my favorite.

There regular pizza was not good - sicilian style, like another small chain in the wheeling/steubenville area, dicarlos I think. But this place did make a very good BLT pizza. Bacon, shredded lettuce, cheese - cheddar maybe, I don't recall tomatoes however, and ranch dressing. Only the shell was baked. That one always went fast when we had the occasional lunch party around holidays at work. |

In the Netherlands, I have seen frozen pizza with cauliflower and corn on the cob (with cob section attached).
My wife liked it. |

There used to be a great pizza place in Auburn that served a "Mountain Magic" pizza.
Pepperoni, sausage and cashews. It was awesome! |

We've put broccoli or fresh brussels sprouts on homemade pizza before as well, very good.

Local place makes one with ketchup, mustard, ground beef, cheese, pickles and onions.
Call it the cheeseburger pizza. You can get bacon on it too. |
|
My dad and I used to get clam and pineapple because he wasn't supposed to have bacon.
Turns out, we should've had clam, bacon, pineapple anyway. |

Zucchini, Mae ploy sauce.
Papa Murphy's Thai chicken pizza FTW. |
