![]() Unreal Engine 4 - (2018) - Ridiculous Realistic Looking Characters! |

Like many things I see and hear these days, I don't know what's real or not anymore...

Looks better than some of the new Star Wars movie characters.

Aside from the obvious disinformation potential...the artistry is amazing. Cool times.

Incredible imagery! But they aren't moving. Will they look as realistic when trying to copy human movements?

I just want a new game where I build farms, raise an army and attack my neighbors.

I was out of gaming for a while. Picked up a PS4 for the Last of Us. Had a few friends show up during the first bit of the game. Granted they may have had a few drinks, but asked what movie I was watching. Then I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn. Graphics are getting unreal (or almost real?). I can see a time where movies are to books, now, as video games are to movies in the near future. When the graphics get near par who is going to want to experience a fixed story over an interactive one?

The funny thing is we've had demos similar in the past of look at what we can do and they never follow through.
The closest we've gotten and they quickly highlighted it was Hellblade: Senua's Sacrafice. If you can play it on a high end rig, the character modeling looks AMAZINGLY real. So the truth is we are are definitely close, we just need studios to step up their game. |

Someone stole my N64 Turok game before I moved from FL to AL. Some friends...

The lips when they're talking are always a dead giveaway. Somehow, after all these years, CGI artists still can't get that right. View Quote |

Quoted: What is going to get really strange is playing a war type VR game where the graphics and characters are life like that have a full range of human emotions. I am not sure the human psyche is going to be able to handle it. We may very well see gamers with PTSD, and a host of other mental disorders associated with it because their brains can't differentiate between reality and virtual reality. View Quote |

Buggy whips.
I hope the technology puts all those overpaid leftist actors and actresses out of business. |

Not bad.
If you have seen the new Avengers movie I have to give props to the team that brought Thanos to life. I've got a pretty good eye for bad CGI, but there are some scenes that Thanos looked like a real purple person... literally flawless skin texture. I don't think I've seen something that's not real look so real. |

Quoted: This. They always have horse mouth. It also seems like they have minor issues with collision detection on clothing and weaponry. The clip of the chick from rogue one, her right collar clips through her body. Still incredible what they've done in even 5 years. I'd love to see Fallout 1 and 2 remade with this engine.
