Anyone want an EV with a bit of smoke damage? It'll buff out.

I heard this morning a bunch of Lambos and Bentlys were on that ship as well. Big $$$$.

Quoted: Which end of that is the front? Ships are really strange looking these days. Especially those ships coming from China with shipping containers stacked like 10 stories above the deck. When real war comes someday, the entire commercial shipping fleets will be so easily taken out it won't be believed. Then the USA will devolve back to third world origins since this country depends, entirely, on overseas for products or parts of products produced here. At least GLOCK has full manufacturing here. That's something. View Quote Ship names are on each side of the bow. Ship name and city and/or country of registry are on the bow. |

The E-trons have a bad rep.
EV’s are the result of forced development, not evolution. They’re not here because they are a superior product/design. They’re here because the .gov said “make them or else” (plus, .gov subsidizes them) the car companies are doing what they can to make them useful. The answer to a question nobody asked. TC |

30 million dollar ship with 100 million dollar cargo.
That ship has serious structural issues, I doubt it will ever see land again. Just do some searching, you will see car carriers are having lots of "unknown origin" fires in their cargo holds. The one thing they all have in common is EV vehicles and others with all these new batteries. If it keeps burning, and I dont see any way they can extinguish it, the back will break soon and it will go down like a rock. If the midship weakens enough, she will split. |

Chevy had to halt Bolt production altogether, as they scrambled to find a fix. I think they are still on production hold, but I'm not 100% sure. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Just do some searching, you will see car carriers are having lots of "unknown origin" fires in their cargo holds. The one thing they all have in common is EV vehicles and others with all these new batteries. They need to start putting in water mist fire suppression systems in the cargo holds, with IR camera detectors for rapid response. Once one of those batts goes into thermal overload about all you can do is soak up the heat to prevent collateral damage until the reaction runs its course. Quoted: Class D fires are no fucking joke especially when that class D Substance explodes when it comes into contact with water. https://www.amerex-fire.com/upl/downloads/library/29-i-need-a-class-d-extinguisher-for-lithium-ion-batteries.pdf Rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries do not have metallic lithium, are not a Class D fire, and do not explode when contacted by water. In most cases water is the best option to cool down the battery and stop the thermal overload chain reaction. Water Mist fire extinguishers were developed for, and installed on the ISS, in large part to address this hazard (as well as toxicity concerns). Last I knew, FAA training for flight attendants was to douse burning electronic devices (ie, battery fires) with water from the drink cart, in preference to using the onboard fire extinguishers for several reasons. The reason you can't put rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in checked baggage is so that they're available to extinguish if need be. |
