Yeah this is a big deal because gun owners got way ahead of the both national and state Republican party; not many politicians seemed to know what was going on until after the fact. The only national gun group was telling everyone not to attend, so that meant that all the tens of thousands of people had to organize and show up somehow, and did so despite the FBI and media trying to scare people away by branding it a white supremacist gathering. Plus the leadup to the rally too. Just showing conservatives that it's okay to use your local government, that you are not violating some obscure conservative principle when your county/city passes a resolution to not enforce a new law is important. It’s interesting. On my way back from Richmond, heading up 95 I knew one thing, I didn’t want Pennsylvania to become Virginia. Since I’ve been home, I’ve became one of the faces of my county’s ( Union County) 2A Sanctuary Ordinance movement. My picture has been in the paper 3 times in two weeks. Up to today, I’ve met nearly every municipal supervisor in my county. Things are looking good for us... All that being said, I’ve met some great, patriotic people in my county. I’d be lying if I didn’t sense the same Government distrust feeling up here, that was so prevalent in Richmond. I’ve had old men, high school kids and old women with tears in their eyes thanking me and asking me what they can do to stop all this government overreach. Of course, the answer is vote and contact all levels of your government representatives about t the 2nd and PA’s Article 1 Section 21. There’s also been the side that’s ready to go to guns. I tell them to get mentally and physically fit and competent with their firearms and pray to Got it never comes to that. We aren’t anywhere near that point. People have been stopping me after the municipal meetings, when I’m working out and in the store to comment and express their concern. I don’t think Northam realizes he lit a fuse that spread much further than Virginia. Virginian’s keep vigilant! I’ll see you next year in Richmond! Again! Edited for fat fingering....see below post. |
