They are unassuming and nice, and will definitely make some noise when people come around.

As said, they are bug devouring machines so feed him (any chicken feed is fine) and hope he sticks around.

This. We have a group that patrols my parents neighborhood. Everyone takes care of them. They're cool birds. Loud as shit and like to sleep in the trees at night and spook you if you get to close.

Go get a gaggle of albino guineas.

I believe the albino ones are mean. They’d make great watch birds.

When I was a kid in Temple, TX, we had a neighbor with a small herd of those things.  They wandered around in a group making funny noises.  My dog, Mister, was a border collie/Aussie shepherd mix.  I don’t think he hated them, but he damn sure enjoyed tormenting them.  Never killed one, but he would lie in wait and ambush them.  She would scatter like quail ending up in shrubbery, trees, etc.

It was great fun to watch.  Simpler times.

A Guinea will sit beside a road for hours waiting on a car to drive by  so it can run out in front of it. If you want a good a alarm system get a couple. No one will get with in 100 meters with out an alarm.

When I was a kid, my parents had just moved to OK.  A neighbor down the road had a bunch of them that would hang out in the road.  Another neighbor, being a mischievous old man, told my mother that she didn't even need to slow down when she drove by. They would get out of the way.   I think she hit 3 or 4 when she took his advise.
