I wonder with all the gun sales going on right now, how much potential revenue they could have had in ammo sales?

Honestly, fuck walmart and their locked displays. Can't ever find an employee, and when I do they usually don't have a key.

Yup, you'll pay for it.

Assuming you give walmart business which I don't.

All you need to know about how Walmart will cave to any hint of sleighting minorities needs to look no further than this...Yes, you are looking at two Walmart Super Centers that are two miles apart.

Walmart would be racists if they don't display the multicultural beauty products out front like a Home Depot.

Having worked retail loss prevention in an area that was pretty evenly split, basically 25%% black/white/hispanic/asian.

One thing I learned was white and black people still about the same...difference was in what they stole.

Teenagers steal petty shit like phone cases and movies. Black people often stole mostly petty shit with a few higher end items. White people pretty much universally went for the high price items.

I saw maybe 5% of white people stealing petty crap, if you managed to stop them it was generally always a Class A, which was $500+ where I live. Blacks were often Class C(less than $100) or class B ($100-$500).

Asians basically never steal....ever, and hispanics really weren't that bad but would often steal food or alcohol.

Obviously not a "data driven" action. Unlike the original decision. Maybe they should just make the black products free to atone for their racism.

Walmart in not great part of Dayton closed and  built a new store 5 miles away in a better neighborhood because of theft.

I worked for West Marine for many years.

We had to keep most of our small sailboat accessories (blocks and turnbuckles etc) in a locked case, high dollar but easily pocket-able.  It was a threft thing, not a race thing.  (You don't see many black sail boaters.)

Years later, fucking yeti cups... black and white women with huge ass purses.

God I hate fucking thieves.

In 2009 or so I was a home improvement store in central FL (Orlando, Tampa - can't remember for sure). I needed Brother label tape to mark the RJ-45 drops I was toning out at a new satellite office. The "highly recommended contractor" hadn't bothered to mark them on either end.

The freaking spray paint was in a cage

Being an innocent lamb from rural NH I had never seen that before.

Learned a new word that day though: Tagger

I used to occasionally stop by a Chase bank on the edge of black hood.
All the tellers were behind thick bulletproof glass.

The other branches a few miles away - not so much.

We should protest Chase bank for their racism.

Fantastic.

Now everyone else will have to pay higher prices for the items that aren't frequently stolen to subsidize the products with high shrinkage.

In today's whacky upside down world, it's likely.

They could, but then that person would wind up getting into a physical confrontation, they'd get sued, and it would cost even more.

Extensive research, that is to say 2 minutes of Googling, has shown me that you can't say this is true for all WalMart locations as it was easy for me to find plenty of items either locked away or with anti-theft packaging.

Something to keep in mind about those security fixtures, they are ridiculously expensive, a pain to sell from, and they kill sales. All retailers know this. The only reason you use them is when you are ready to give up on a section and just make it a museum. I got my store into trouble locking up the ethnic haircare because we could not keep it on the shelf for more than a week before it all disappeared. Then it got posted on Facebook, not the whole department being locked up, just the ethnic selection. So we locked up everything BUT the ethnic haircare and just stopped restocking it once it was gone. I quit a career in retail because the world just turned upside down. I now work in a closed facility and I hope I never have to go back to self service retail ever again.
