I was actually curious because OP is clearly dropping a few bucks on this and I didn’t know if adding air bags is a viable restomod thing or not. My first car was a 65 Mustang that didn’t even have seat belts. As I’m sure you’re aware, that’s just a reality you have to accept with these cars. Serious answer: given the construction of the steering column, wheel, and dash, putting airbags into these trucks would be a very serious undertaking that would border on the impossible. |

Quoted: Quoted: All I have to say is I hope the wheels I see on it in the picture are jut for mock up. Those gawdy bling bling gangster things do not belong on a classic such as that. Those look like the wheels someone puts on squatted trucks. I do not care what happens under the skin, I just hope you leave the body original and the interior as original as possible. The 70's trucks are the best body style ford ever made on a truck. 79 was the last great year. Everything since has been bleh. Your disapproval is noted and ignored. Attached File |

I am smitten and jealous.
I wish I had the know-how and ability to do these projects. I have had a crush on the 1976 Highboy since I was a kid. |

OST. Need to pick up a '65 F100 in carribean turquoise to do the same.

I'm an LS engine guy but the 7.3 has proven to be a very capable platform. |

View Quote Considering it has none of the top end complications of the existing Ford DOHC motors and that's where most of their problems are, I'm not looking for there to be a lot of those. We have a 19 F350 7.3 work truck with 160k on it already and it's been great. |

I think a smaller size with a more concave face would look more appropriate for the era of truck, but we all have different taste. |

Absolutely in. A late 70s highboy is my dream classic truck. Sounds like you're sparing no expense, it should be a dandy when you're through!

Looking great! I’ve been doing restos, motorcycles, and rods for a long time. I’m amazed at the cool stuff you can buy these days to upgrade your projects. Kewl suspensions, steering, brakes, and also good harnesses. Best of luck. And in the pictures I see some paint jobs that unbelievably good. Ya Mon!!

Not a Ford guy but you have to enjoy the company of other men if you don't like this generation of Ford Trucks
Cool project Op! |

What’s the thought process of the aluminum tank vs poly?
I’m not on the up and up, just not something I’ve seen except in race cars |

The mock up process looks great and I like your use of wood for mock up structural members....I did the same on mine. Almost every project I work on starts with a wooden model
Keep up the great work and I like the updates |
