TR Hard to find a more interesting president Dude was on his way to give a campaign speech when John Flammang Schrank tried to assassinate him with a .38 revolver. Took the shot in the chest but it was slowed by his 50 page speech and steel eyeglass case. He was bleeding and the bullet was in his chest but he refused to go to the hospital and insisted on giving his speech. “Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose,” He spoke for at least 55 min while still wearing his blood-soaked shirt. |
