What caught me off guard the most was how far the leagues have backed off on testing, or even caring about it. You can use it in every off season just not on the job. I wasn't aware of any test that differentiates from when you was high 5 minutes ago or last week.
We've gone from "it's going to fry your brain" to commonplace for some of the most elite in their professions using it, and winning. Yet you still have prohibited states that will jam you up over it unless you're rich and famous. |

Opium has a similar ease-of-production going for it, and it can lead to problems, obviously. Though I think the War on Some Drugs has done infinitely more damage to our society than the effects of these plants' misuse. Enforcing our existing laws against violent acts and theft would go a long way towards ameliorating the ill effects from illicit drugs. We're not doing that, either. Crack is the drug that made the drug war famous and locked people up for very long times for small amounts. |
