swift is a weird language. this is a legal statement:
let upsideDown: Data? = "??".data(using: .utf8)
but you can't use updateDown without unrolling it, either by force unrolling it with a bang, ala: doSomethingWith(thing: upsideDown!)
which may throw an error, or specifying alternate behavior: doSomethingWith(thing: upsideDown ?? "zomg it broke")

Also found out one of the ladies I frequently work with probably committed suicide today. She was supposed to work this evening, but she called in dead instead. She’d been having medical issues that they were treating with heavy doses of pain meds, then abruptly discontinued her pain meds without an effective alternative management plan. Sucks. View Quote |

That’s the easy part. You could use a momentary switch and use it to activate/disrupt a latching relay that bypasses your exiting headlight high beam switch. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm thinking about adding one to my truck. It has a foot rest on the left and I could just drill a 1/4" hole and put a heavy stompbox style switch there. Just need to figure out how to wire it. Where I live now, I only get to use the high beams about once every two months. |

Yep. $17K is on one check. $1600 on another, possibly some credit card thefts, too. Those 2 checks have the same signatures on the back. We deposit all of our checks electronically. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yup, I need to figure out how my truck manages the high beams. IIRC it's pull for temporary, push for lock on but I don't recall if the lock returns to center (i.e. it gets handled by a relay) or stays forward (i.e. a detent locks it in place). Where I live now, I only get to use the high beams about once every two months. View Quote |

The old language for those devices was Objective-C. The newest new hotness is React Native which lets you write javascript which gets transpiled (God, I hate that word) into Swift/Obj-C for iOS and Java for Android apps. |
