The lesson is to have a department of war not a department of defense and to fight to win the war not tie or lose with one arm tied behind our backs. I’m guessing the jag corps was smaller in WWII than the GWOT.

Logistics wins wars. It's amazing what the US did with production with not only fighting vehicles, but transports (truck, trains, aircraft, ships) to keep everything going. On top of that we supplied our Allies (Britain & British Commonwealth, USSR, French, China (KMT) and other nations) with war material.
Bigger bombs help too. We couldn't even fight WW II now if we had to. What steel plants? |
