JustHK - from another thread I learned that CoD Modern Warfare is out. Like I said, decades ago I couldn't make the figure move on those controls.

Had a biker looking guy in a newer Cherokee tell me my Miata sounded great today. Guess JP doesn't know everything.

Had lunch with a cattle rancher. He's had two heads of cattle that were mutliated. Second rancher I know who it's happened to.

Quoted: One of the kids Jewish? Mazel tov! We had a Hasidic Jew in summer school and we talked a lot. He didn't bring enough food (2 weeks, food in saddlebags of his motorcycle) and I offered to bring him a zucchini from my garden. Nope, my knife wasn't kosher. Offered to buy him a salad (kosher) from Safeway but nope, can't accept charity. Couldn't dine with us b/c restaurant was not kosher and to dine with us meant he condoned our un-kosher ways. Poor kid got headaches and experienced dizziness (we think blood sugar was too low) because he wasn't eating (no kosher food). On the bright note I provided him guidance to detail disassemble a 1812 vintage Brown Bess and later on his family double barrel (late 1800s) with coil spring mainsprings instead of V springs. Showed him what he needed to remove the firing pins (spanner wrench made from screwdriver) but he didn't have the money to buy a used screwdriver. He needed to replace a broken spring in that shotgun. BTW, his stepfather was a true azzwhole. "Put your thumb in the Garand." "OK." "Now release the action by slapping the op-rod handle with the other hand." "Ouch! Why did you have me do that?" "So you'll learn never to do that again." Super traditional, very conservative family. So we chose to abide by the appropriate dress code. I didn’t know if we were going to be the only non-Jewish people in attendance, and I didn’t want to embarrass our hosts or ourselves. Besides, it wasn’t anything complicated. Suit for the imp, no bright colors, and conservative, neutral or dark dresses for me and the impette. No short hems, no low necklines, no white, no shoulders exposed, and at least half sleeves for me. I tend to wear stuff that sort of fits that anyway, although I’ll often choose brighter colors or shorter sleeves. |
