No politics, no letting yourself know what features it have sway your opinion. Just what pops into your mind when you think of a jet fighter/attack aircraft.
I only ask because a youtube vid I watched said the f/a 18 Hornet was ugly, which I had never thought about, and after actually looking at it, it kinda is.. |

Without regard for modern developments or other details, what comes to mind as simple "the jet fighter" will always be the 262.

Of actual, flying fighters... Probably the F-5. |

All the more modern US jets are badass. F15, F16, F18, F22, F35.
I'm partial to the 16 and 18 though. |

It wasn't this tail #, but an F4 from the same unit (Selfridge) was flown over to Bitburg, Germany back in 1989. Beautiful old gal flew all the way from Michigan Code 1. She wasn't on the ground for more than an hour before the ABDR classes started. ![]() ETA: There's still a soft spot in my heart for the F4--but the F15C is my favorite ![]() ![]() ![]() |
