I have to go with Skyrim.
It's the only modem game that I have the desire to do multiple playthroughs and with mods it looks pretty damn good for 2021. I've probably done 6 playthroughs since it launched and I still find new things with each playthrough. The depth of this game is crazy and the way you can approach the game has multiple angles. My most challenging was a mage build where I only used magic and staffs. |

Doom. Any of them. Especially the last 2.
Or Mario 3D. Love me some Mario world. Pure fun and joy. |
I used to play Skyrim like you, until I took an arrow in the knee.
Masters of Orion
I play Overwatch quite a bit. I also run a new character through Diablo 3 every season. |
The Zelda Series but I couldn’t just pick one.
LTTP Links Awakening Windwaker OOT Twilight Princess |
Day of Defeat.
I used to spend hours playing that. Friggin fun as hell |
The orginal FarCry up to the point the Tri-gens monsters start showing up.

I replay Skyrim at least once every couple of years and am replaying it right now.
But my favorite game is the Dark Souls series. I cannot pick a favorite because each of them together are a perfect whole. The difficulty and shear unforgivable nature of the games are what makes it great. The sense of accomplishment when you finally down tue Fume Knight or that God damn dragon in 3's dlc which I started on ng+3, or Orenstein and Smough just feels amazing. |

Hard to say.
Most hours? WoW and it isn't close. That was an incredibly fun game if you had a good group of friends. Played solo or pugging it doesn't hold up. I've definitely done a whole lot of Fallout NV playthroughs and I generally find myself entranced every time. For a narratively focused game I might go with that. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim also come close. I can always sit down and play through Starfox 64, though. Something about an arcade-y game like that makes infinite playthroughs enjoyable. I don't think I could peg a single game, but I could go by genre and pick one each, I think. |

you can't pick just one.
skyrim breath of the wild FF7 diablo2 starcraft2 honorable mention goldeneye zelda ocorina of time deus ex half life 2 witcher 3 halo red dead redemption 2 world of war craft probably belongs on this list but i never really got into it. |
Probably old school Dark Age of Camelot, that game was incredible when it first launched.
For FPS games, the Destiny franchise probably has my favorite gun play. |
Zaxxon <- I spent a lot of lunch money one quarter at a time back in the day.
Has to be either System Shock 2 or Planescape Torment.
Stories in both were fantastic. |
Top 4 (in no particular order):
World of Warcraft Star Wars Galaxies Zelda: Ocarina of Time Elder Scrolls RPG (Morrowind, Skyrim) |
Old School - Command and Conquer
New School - Rising Storm Vietnam |
Resident Evil (the original). This is the only correct answer.
Morrowind
I hate how much they dumbed down the game for the sequels to make it more accessible, but the sales figures for Skyrim seem to show that was the right move financially. |
Probably GTA-Vice City. I cant even tell you how many hours I sunk into fucking up that city when I was younger.
Fallout 4 also gets an honorable mention from me. |
I lost a whole year of my life to this stupid thing. If I could find a good 486DX66 computer to play it on I'd lose anther year.

Skyrim is an amazing game. Certainly one of the best ever. Pure mage is not an easy build, probably the most difficult starting builds of the game.
My current run is a mage focusing on Destruction, Alteration and restoration. Do you make use of potion skills or only enchanting? I have probably run through the game 6 or 7 times. Like you there is always new things to do. I do enjoy a one handed fighter with a sword an shield on my early runs, of course is did a stealthy their assassin fun through. My daughter has done a run through as a kajit with no weapons before, she loves the game as well. Kajit is her favorite. |

View Quote My character made full use of magic, potions, enchanting, and staffs. I was a power mage. You are right, it wad incredibly hard. It's the only playthrough I never finished. Magic is terribly underpowered in Skyrim. My very first Elder Scrolls playthrough was Morrowind and I played as a Kajit sneak/thief. |
