AK-47.
I bought a converted Russian Saiga. It worked just fine. I hated it. Pointed like a boat oar, gay TAPCO trigger was super wonky. Charging handle is on the wrong side. Sights suck. No muzzle device so it was blinding to shoot at night. I could have fixed the last 2 but what is the point? I sold it a few weeks after buying it. AK's belong in the garbage |

Bond arms derringer. Trigger is worse than a Nagant revolver.

After watching all the reviews about the Maxim 9 when it was released I had a fever to buy one but couldn't justify the cost at the time. Later SiCo has their bogo deal and that put me over the edge on my internal debate and I bought one. My first issue is that the trigger is horrendous. Trigger is mushy with no real clean break. The second issue is that it had light primer strike issues with SRP reloads. Only pistol that I own that has this issue. I know that part is more my issue than a platform complaint.
I think I've fired maybe 500 rounds through it and I can't bring myself to bring it to the range other than when friends want to shoot it. I haven't brought it out of my safe in almost 2 years and I wish I didn't sink $1300 into a gun that I will never get anything near it back if I choose to sell. |
|
I've never been disappointed with any of the guns I've owned. All of them lived up to or exceeded expectations.

Quoted: @vagor what's your beef with it? I have a super nova tactical (pistol grip) and find it to be a very nice and reliable shotgun. View Quote Honestly there probably wasn’t anything wrong with the gun, it’s just not what I wanted and I shouldn’t have bought it. I was never satisfied with it and traded it off. I was bummed because it was my first gun purchase after I turned 18. @SethP |

Quoted: 1911, especially Kimbers. Heard so many great things about 1911s, then after a good amount of money spent on multiple ones I found out they are big, heavy, and finicky. At least they have low capacity and are expensive. View Quote I never bought a kimber, but the rest is right on here too. PPK is garbage too for the same reasons. |

Bought a used Ruger Mark III that was fun, and very accurate, but it hung up on the first round if I didn't manually tip it up before inserting the mag. Not the end of the world, but it bugged me enough that I sold it (disclosing the issue).
Beretta m9a1. Great shooting gun, but the machining is really rough on mine. I think of Beretta as a pretty gun, so this was a drag. Considered selling it, but I've made my peace. |

-Glock pistols (specifically the 19-the G40 was better). Sigs and CZs are both more reliable, staple gun triggers are worse than the DA pull on either of the aforementioned, and the magazines kind of suck too.
-Remington 597. I can't remember ever getting through an entire magazine without at least one, but usually close to 5, malfunction-usually FTFs and FTEs. Got it for Christmas as a kid, and sold it to a coworker a while back for $50 with a full disclosure of the reliability issues. He's been happy with it but just uses it for squirrel hunting. -ARs aren't really bad, but they're boring and do nothing for me. |

Quoted: CZ vz. 52 pistol. If you look out on the wide expanse of the Internet, you will find people extoling the virtues of the vz. 52 pistol, and how it is oh so superior to the mundane TT-33. Don't listen to them. It is a bizarre pistol with ergonomics designed for nobody, an operating system that had never been used on a handgun before and would never be used on one again, and which has issues with poor metallurgy on important parts of the gun. Poor quality rollers flatten out and trash the barrel. Firing pin breaks at the drop of a hat. The decocker becomes unreliable and turns into a second trigger. And yes, you read that right, it's an SAO handgun with a decocker. Why? Who knows. I can only assume the Czech designer of this gun was on some serious drugs. As a historical collectible, it has value. If you just want to shoot 7.62x25, go buy a TT-33 variant and don't look back. View Quote I chose it over a TT-33 because CZ 52s don't have retarded import safeties. |

Thx to COD I bought a Kriss Vector SDP-SB and use it with my Sig Sauer SRD-45 suppressor. She is a looker at the local gun range and shoots really well at a rate of 1 rd per sec. Anything faster and she jams. Also had problems with the charging handle fully seating. Cleaning is also very tideous. Love the looks, hate the reliability.

Pretty much every AK I ever owned. I’ve been as cheap as a WASR10 and as expensive as a Bulgarian SLR-107FR. They worked fine but the AR platform offers so much more at a better value, at least here in the US.

Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm
Very unreliable. Sent it back twice for repair. They never could fix it. Sold it. |
|
My first handgun. It was a 3" Springfield armory XD, chambered in .40 S&W. I probably would've liked the 9mm version better.
|
|
PTR91. I really wanted to like it but mine was a lemon. The mag catch was cut out of spec which seated the mag low enough to cause bolt-over malfunctions as mag spring pressure decreased. It would shoot fine until round 16 then it wouldn’t even chamber a round. I sent it back to the factory twice and they refused to fix it.
I ended up selling it at a loss to a guy who said he could fix it. I was extremely happy to see that gun go. In general, a gun must possess the following or I won’t keep it: - accurate - reliable - comfortable (ergonomic I guess) |
|
Quoted: Careful, you have a few diehard CZ fans that will claim you're lying. I had similar issues with the P-07 Duty. It was a piece of shit. View Quote It was documented here, so NP. I was going to say that the die hards would excuse it by pointing out it was in the first run of pistols (SN# in the 400 range IIRC) that were eventually recalled, but,..... too late . |

AKM underfolder, built by that chomo at Red Jacket on a Russian Saiga. A blind monkey could’ve done a better job. Underfolder wouldn’t lock in in closed position, front sight was canted bad enough to be off paper at 25, and the AK-74 style comp was off enough to shave copper. Talked to that freak by phone and he tried to fix the rifle, before finally refunding me my money.

Not too many “disappointments”
I suppose a Century UC9 semi-auto UZI. I purchased it based on good reviews hoping it would be a good SBR candidate. However, it was a perpetual 98% gun. Despite a lot of effort and expense, it would ALWAYS jam 2X with 2 boxes of ammunition. They were soft jams but is was annoying enough that I wasn’t going to stamp it. I sold it, with full disclosure, for a tidy profit during the latest panic buy in 2020. I ended up SBRing a IMI model A. Runs flawlessly and suppresses well with my Gemtech MOSSAD. I also have a Group/Vector full-auto UZI as well. I bought it when they were $3,500. I guess my greatest “disappointment” was a MAS 49/56 that Century thoughtfully converted from 7.5 French to .308Win. Unfortunately, they fucked that up so bad that they “converted” it into a single-shot rifle . I ended up trading that straight-up for an unmolested S&W Victory revolver in .38/200 to a guy who insisted he knew how to make that Century abortion run right. I sure as Hell hope he did Century seems to be a common denominator |

Ruger Redhawk .44 5.5”.
I really loved the look and feel. After 250 rounds of .44 mag and special, I couldn’t group for shit. Like.. always 6” groups at 10yards, which is way worse than anything I’ve done with a 629, 329pd. I had the action worked on, and the trigger became smooth as butter. Great. Same old shit groups. I sold it at a loss. |

Kimber 9mm 1911 commander size. I don't even remember the model. It was accurate but jammed a lot; even after the recommended break in period. I wanted to love it but it was not dependable.

1984 AMT Hardballer Longslide. Wouldn't feed any type of round at all. With one manually poked in the chamber, it would fire, but the spent case stove piped on the way out.
Every time, all day. It didn't function at all.....nothing like the movie. Tony |

Sounded like a good idea at the time when I bought it. It was no fun to shoot and hard to be accurate with. Ammo was expensive, though you didn't want to shoot more than a box of 20 in one sitting. Shooting 45 LC was ok out of it, but what's the point when a smaller revolver can do it better. I really didn't have a good reason to own it to begin with since I wasn't hiking in bear country or anything. Also worth noting was that sometimes the recoil would cause crimp jump which would lock up the cylinder. Took some finessing to free it up. Ending up selling it to a work buddy a couple years later. Good riddance. If I want something to fulfill that role in the future, I'll go with a 10mm with hard cast rounds. |

Brand new Sig P320. The trigger was kind of good at first, but in combination with the super slippery grip, and for some reason I was trying with it under recoil. Traded it for a loss on a Gen 5 G19 and all is again right in the world.

The Makarov. I read the fixed barrel Bulgarian model was the most accurate so I got one of those. Got some nice rubberized grips. Took it to the range.
It was so inaccurate I couldn't even print from 25 yards. Brought it in to 10 yards, flyers all over the place. What a huge disappointment. At least it was cheap. |

XD45, hugest POS ever
IO AK47, total shit Glock23 and 22. I HATE .40Cal. PSA PA10, must have gotten a lemon. JamOmatic Rem 11/87. Choked on all ammo Mossberg MVP .308. Shot great but the stock was shit (painted wood) and the bolt was terribly loose. Front sights were drilled WAAAY off! |

Semi auto uzi
Always wanted a UZI, wish i could afford full auto |
|
WASR-10. Muh AK-47 reliability! Um, no. I never got through a magazine without at least two failures to extract. Even the Bushmaster I had back then was more reliabile.
Mini-14. I never got the choke tighter than Modified. A supposed rifle should be able to do Improved Modified if not Full. |
|
|
As I mentioned earlier number 1 is SIG mosquito for obvious reasons.
2 is my semi auto UZI. It ran fine but is huge and heavy with an awkward 16 inch barrel, terrible ergos, and shitty sights. Sold it during sandy hook for $$$. Next is any XDM or Springfield 1911. One I really wanted to love was the 5906. Classic looks and built like a tank. Heavy, not very accurate, and the grip is way too thick. Sold during covid for $$$. I'd add mini 14, my 1st was an inaccurate jamomatic POS. But I got a good deal on a new stainless one and it runs even with steal and is accurate. Final one is a KIMBER TLE 2. Beautiful gun but it ejected the casings right back into my forehead every time and would jam periodically with hollow points. Last is a Remington R25 in 308. Wanted an AR10 soooo bad. But the Remington was such a lemon. It was very accurate but would double feed, jam, fail to go into battery, or break cases that it completely 100% crap. |
|
Kimber Solo. Waited a year for it and even after break in it would fail to feed and eject enough that I would never trust it to carry.
