The Godfather Part II Indeed. The saga is honestly what i consider to be the Great American Novel. Some will look at this movie and see crime, and dishonesty, and violence, ect. And i agree. Its true. Thats life. Thats America,or really anywhere else. Hard and unforgiving. And even if your the best, ever, at what you do there will be something that eventually gets past your eye, ala was the Don. And that is why i enjoy this movie; because its about a family that just happens to be alive in this corner of the world. These are thier problems, and they struggle. Just finished the book, just awesome |

OP, really hard to pick just one!
Based on number of times watched, I'd have to go with Aliens. |

A bit ago, I would have said Dawn of the Dead (2004). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v687/Arfcom/CJ2.jpg But, lately my son and I have been watching the Star Wars series (the good ones) and because of that, I think I'll go with Return of the Jedi. http://img2-3.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/081002/jedi-luke-sail-barge_l.jpg Edit: Pick one. Don't provide a list of all of your favorites. Edit2: I never knew that this many Arfcommers couldn't read. Fucking Muppets. Also, original Dawn > 2004 |

Can't go wrong with the Shawshank Redemption.
I also can't pick just one. So the above is not entirely accurate. |

Shawshank Redemption..... end thread.

Another vote for The Shootist.
There Will Be Blood. The Last Of The Mohicans is up there also, I loved the fight seen where Magua gets his due. |
|
That's up there on my list. The Count of Monte Christo is one of my favorites. I love a good revenge flick. |
|
I can't pick just one. If forced, I'd probably say "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

lawrence of arabia
saw it when it came out in 62.....i was 9.....it blew my mind then and every time i have seen it since, it lives up to it's reputation just recently saw it again on the big screen in 35mm absolutely mesmerizing.....great music too and....it really gives insight into that neck of the woods even today the tribal mentality will never be overcome, just as it showed at the end of the movie when damascus was liberated |

I think the space battle in ROTJ is still one of the coolest space battles ever filmed. I think the key is they didn't fill up the screen too much like CGI does now.
