Quoted: If it comes down to a pistol you're screwed, but my "battle pistol" so to speak is my S&W 2.0 with a 5 inch barrel. View Quote I don't think so necessarily. A concealed pistol is better at making oneself appear as a non combatant. If you're walking around during TEOTWAKI with a rifle, someone is going to pop you before you ever see them, run up and steal your stuff. A good handgun with a light and an optic has no problem stretching out to 100 yards if need be, never underestimate the element of surprise. |

G17.
While I have several other full-size pistols that would fit the bill quite nicely, this is the one that lives on a war belt, and kept ready 24/7. Yes, I know how boring of a choice it is. |

I would more than likely grab my G45 or Sig 226 in 9mm. Both of these are as reliable as the sunrise

If I'm at work, the Beretta because it's my desk gun. Anywhere else, the CZ. I shoot it better than any of my others.

It's just a thread asking to pick what your secondary would be if going to fight for land and country. Nothing more, nothing less. But if you can't be bothered to play by the thread rules, at least respect the person giving their answers as it's game and not a dick. My secondary would be my G45, with just a light on it. M rifle goes down or no time to reload I can still stay in the fight by drawing it and using it until time permits to use the rifle again. Besides, you'd be having gear on which means a belt. Now I don't know you from me but carrying it OWB on a battle belt is more better. It would make carrying it concealed instead and under the battle belt rather pointless, restrictive, and unusable. Do you understand now? Maybe now some of you would get it finally and answer the OP according to the rules instead of adding your own to them. |

Who cares what size it is. It impregnates just as well as the smaller one.

From who and where are you going to be getting these extra magzines from? Quoted: Who cares what size it is. It impregnates just as well as the smaller one. |

Quoted: I want to say my staccato c2, but would probably go with my walther p99 or canik. I can easily mod a lot of mags to work with the p99 or canik, basically any sig 22x 9mm, beretta 92, and a bunch other mags will work with a new mag catch slot. View Quote I did not know this and Canik mags are hard to find non-shtf. Very useful info that moves my TP9sfx up the list. |

Probably the HK P30. It's supposed to be good for 90,000 rounds.

I have a soft spot (and a hard spot) for the G35 mostly because of cheap cop-trade hollow points for SHTF. Couple this with an extra 9mm conversion barrel, Mandingo mags and a snicky snick back plate. And. Here. We. Go.

G19. It’s there for the very small chance my rifle quits working. Very small chance. Will be mags everywhere.

Always laughed at the spare parts and magazine argument.
if you're finding mags and parts you're going to be finding guns to. That is if you make it past your first firefight |

Quoted: You might need to traverse places that will put extra stress on an open-carried gun. Climbing around ruined buildings, wading through a flooded basement, crawling through rocky debris (to avoid detection and/or hunting), bumping against doorways- all of these things can damage and degrade a handgun and mags over time. It's not only about how much you might shoot it. View Quote I mean, sure, if that’s your plan for SHTF, more power to you. To me, that sounds like a bunch of hypothetical and reckless behavior that you’d want to avoid at all costs if you’re realistically trying to survive. Exploring ruined buildings and flooded basements are very late stage SHTF for me. If I end up at that point, I will have had plenty of opportunity to scavenge replacement gear. |
