If you had a budget of 150k what sports car would you get? Note this would not be a daily driver.

Tesla plaid or an ebay lambo for $100k and save the other $50k for maintenance.
|
|
911 GTS or GT3
718 GT4 (they'd have to be used at that price point) |
|
|
|
C4 ZR-1 Callaway Supernatural 475.
1990 Callaway ZR-1 "CR-1" SuperNatural 475 drive-off |
|
I think you could get an older, nice Class 1 buggy for 150k.
Oh yeah! https://classifieds.race-dezert.com/FOR-SALE:Jimco-Champion-Class-1-183025 |

You can lease a mclaren f1 for ~2k/month
do that. Billionaire doors go up. |
|
Camaro ZL1, and put the other 75k into a supercharger and exhaust if you want to really get froggy.
Or, ZL1 and buy your new best friend (me) one too so we can hang out and go to car meets and stuff. |

View Quote Does that come with a double wide to park it next to? |

Under current market conditions all you GT3 guys need to up your cash stack another 30-50 grand. And if it is a 992 GT3 double it. It's insane out there. The used R8 I saw a few weeks ago was 180,000. Lightly used loaded C8 corvettes are listed for 110-120. Hell the 2020 992 Carerra S I saw today with 7000 miles was listed at 152k.

911 is the right answer. I scratched the itch with a lot less with a VW GTI, plus APR tune and a couple grand additional upgrades not as cool as a 911, but German 6 speed turbo fun on a budget.

When you say sports car, describe what a sports car is to you.

Aston Martin if must have v8
911 if good with 6 cylinder. I have 911, and QUITE happy. |
|
|
991.1 GT3
Not even a question (unless you can find an allocation for a GT4RS w/o an ADM) |
|
Have a single cylinder air cooled two stroke VW beetle built.
I might have more fun in that than anything else I could buy for $150k That or shoehorn a Ferrari V12 into the minivan |

I have a 1991 Mazda Miata I took the A/C and power steering out of, added a Hard Dog roll bar, Bilstein shocks and oversized sway bars. I put it on Potenza Pole Position tires and called it good.
I bought it for $1200 and added a couple grand into it and when I feel like it I take it out. It is an Old School sports car and I am a grouchy Olld School kind of guy and that's more than good enough for me. YMMV |

911 for sure, but I’d probably lean towards classic like a really good 993 and budget for repairs
