I called my neighbor who keeps bees, figuring he has the get-up. He came over to verify they were bald faced because I guess they may attack his bees. He said yup and sprayed them with wasp killer I had. Didn’t even go don his outfit. I’m like, I coulda done that.

If you only knew how many times I have put that drone in the cart to purchase.  I know for a fact that one night, while drunk, that bad boy is getting bought but I haven't thought things through much past the purchase.

Found a baldface hornet nest last summer about head high 10yrds in front of one of my treestands down at our farm...went back after dark with my propane rosebud and torched it....the only way...the hornet spray don't kill them through all the layers of paper in their nests...

First off, get a tall step ladder and a fairly long piece of 4" PVC pipe.

You'll only get one chance to do this right.

You have to get mad at them damn hornets.

For real.

I ain't playin'.

They'll cut your name in two.

Pack a chute.

You're supposed to aim it at the opening and get them as they try to come out.  Preferably late in the day or at night when they're resting.  Reading instructions is important when dealing with things like this.  If used properly it works.  Period.

Found one at ground level last year. I figured spraying it would be more eventful, but it was no problem at all.

I found a 2 pack of foaming wasp spray at Lowe’s, so dual wielded foaming wasp spray from 10 feet until empty.

The guy that said they aren’t grizzly bears knows lol

I never have.  How does the pain rate compared to a red wasp?  I have plenty of experience with those assholes.

My kids disturbed a cantaloupe sized nest accidentally last summer. Between the 3 of them only one got away unscathed and the other two got 3 or 4 stings a piece. I retaliated with a vengeance...

I actually had a nest on my back deck last year. Left it alone to see what would happen. We would go out there and our pets. Never got stung. They didn't even pay us any attention. The awesome benefit was that the usual amount of house flys that would attack our house was non-existent.  Bald face hornets take care of them. It was actually a great summer with them on security detail. At the first freeze, they were gone and I knocked down the nest. Never had one issue with them being 8 feet from our kitchen.

The ones you know about aren't usually an issue.  It's those nasty surprises I hate.  Like opening a boat compartment after a long time.  Or the deck box on the patio left undisturbed a little too long.

FACT!

I was working on a cooling tower on a tight elevated platform 10’ or so off the ground. Big red wasp nest on the tower about knee high (basin level). All I had handy was contact cleaner…sprayed them down and I thought I was gonna die before I could get away from them. That was the LAST time I forgot to get more wasp spray put on my truck!

My uncle had a big nest on the side of his barn. I gave it both barrels from a 12 gauge and when it hit the ground it was like a grenade of hornets.
Cows were getting nailed and took off. Went back after dark and torched the part on the ground. A small piece was still on the barn and some of them started repairing it. Nasty little assholes.

Last year I had two come after me.  I had a sweatshirt on, both flew in and hit my chest, felt like getting a bb shot at ya (as kids we had BB gun wars :) )no sting cause the thickness of sweatshirt, but they kept coming.

Got stung in the legs a few years back, feels like a shot from the doctors.
