Several guys at work are always carrying and drinking water from a gallon jug.
Thing is, they may drink an inch or two of the water, so its not like they are drinking the whole thing. I just go to the water fountain when I want a drink. |

CROSSFIT BRAH
Gotta let all the other crossfitters know that you crossfit so y'all can meet up and touch wieners behind the dumpster after work. |
I would carry a jug around for the first half of high school mostly because we had 5am hockey practice before class and you cant get up and go to the drinking fountain every 5 minutes.
I have been doing it for many years, but I actually drink the whole thing every day, sometimes more.

Actually saw a 18ish yr old at the gym the other day walk in, start talking to his buddies, then exclaim "oh shit bro, I forgot my jug in the car bro"
He returned with his gallon of water. |
how do you know you've drank your gallon for the day if you don't carry it with you everywhere?
its called
a poor mans YETI look at me I am cool drinking my gallon of water dont you even lift......... |
When I was in the Marines that's all anyone carried. Either 1/2 or full gallons from the PX.
Um, illegals crossing the border like to drag those gallon jugs along.
The beggars along the roadways usually have one handy. Mexican orphan beggars used to cut the bottoms off and use them to catch coins dropped off the bridges. From past experience, you need to be very careful refilling water containers. They need to be cleaned and sanitized frequently. |
When I was landscaping I always had a gallon jug of water sitting in the shade.
They're doing that now because holding a lit cigarette out of the window of your car has become passe.

A gallon of water from walmart is 68 cents. A 16.9oz bottle of water from the gym is $2.

Am I in before "Do you even lift, bro?"?
Don't forget the cucumbers! |
If my piss starts turning pink, I start drinking a lot of water.

Bunch of shit talkers in here with pallets of water jugs at the BOL or Scepter cans of water in the BOV but hate on a dude for carrying one around with him to sip from
The jugs are practically free and being well hydrated has health benefits, especially if you're taking supplements. The jug vessel makes it easier to follow along vs taking sips from the fountain where you could be under or over hydrating. Don't get the hate. |

I just fill my 30oz cup a few times a day. Good enough and makes sure its cold.
90-120oz of water a day |
I carry a nalgene bottle or an insulated cup when I feel the need to carry around something of that sort
In the south we just carry around an 87 ounce gas station gulp buster with crushed ice and Dr Pepper
I didn't know it was a trend. Done it for years. Hell, my dad was doing it over 40 years ago. His jug was a rinsed out Chlorox jug.
I keep one or two in my work truck and usually have one handy in my car. They’re cheaper than bottles and you can buy another at any gas station around here. I used to use a 2 gallon igloo but the disposable gallons are much more convenient especially compared to filling a little Nalgene bottle 5 times a day (assuming there’s water anywhere). I’ve been doing that for quite a while, does that make me a hipster?

I drink out of the little plastic cups they provide us with at work. We have these water coolers with fancy filtration and its always super cold. It gives me an excuse to get up from my desk 8 times a day.

Responses are
I've been doing it for 20 years now. I drink a gallon of water a day. And if you forget it, lose, or drop your gallon, then a new one from the gas station is cheaper than a 20 ounce bottle. |

They want everyone around them to know they lift. Most of them probably have CrossFit stickers on their cars too.

Phoenix tap water takes like Clorox. The supermarkets sell gallons for about 80 cents a throw. Even if I buy a gallon at a gas station convenience store for twice that, it's probably the healthiest and cheapest thing in the cooler. It's never a bad thing to hydrate. Insulated jugs are bulky in comparison to gallon jugs, and nobody steals gallon jugs off my work cart. Most worksites don't have the water fountains hooked up until long after I've finished my part of the job, and when they do, they dispense Phoenix tap water. I usually drink more than a gallon of water a day, and it is handy knowing how close I got to my goal.

We have one of those galloneers at work. Carries one around and sits it in a conspicuous place wherever he may be. Also 3-4 frozen gallons taking up space in the community freezer.

I always freeze a 1/2 gallon before going to the range, then fill with tapwater.....
gives me a nice cold drink all day.... been doing it a hell of a lot longer than crossfit/hipsters/et al. |

I wear one of these all day. It carries 1000oz of water and my survival gear. Your jug can't do that. http://www.utahoutside.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Osprey-Raptor-1-480x640-e1369327527499.jpg 7.8 gallons is a bit overkill, jesus View Quote |
