It’s nice and all until the detents and shift rails in your transmission cover get worn out and the extra weight makes it start falling out of gear.

Some where around here I have a white Hurst ball and another made from Ivory...  I should find those .
Came from my uncle when he sold his Ford HI Boy .

It's the Black Ball (Bad) and you have to get it LAST to win a game of 8ball.  Put it in any pocket out or order or without calling it and you lose.

Cocaine and meth are commonly sold as an "8 ball" which is 3.5 grams. I figure the 8 ball became so popular  for things like shifters and what-not because people wanted to show "I know how to party, I get high bro".

I'm probably wrong, but that's the way I always figured it happened.

Dude. No.

They were in use long before those terms became popular.

8 ball has always meant bad news, rebel, etc.

I’d love an old Hurst white ball!

Such a racist game. Everybody uses the white ball to systematically, and often violently, smash the poor colored balls around the table and put them into their place.

My favorite shifter was one my buddy made from a piston. Think it was from some small engine. Got a little cold in the winter but other than that it was great. Got a lot of compliments.

The yellow truck is a ramp truck, hard to tell by the overhead view but it was often photographed with the moon dragster.

My brother's friend used a piston out of a lawnmower for a shift knob.
It was from a small engine, but it was uncomfortable as anything.
The sharp edge on the crown sucked!
But it looked cool, and that's all that matters!
