I had a Smith 1006 & 1076. Cool guns, but pretty worthless. Heavy as hell for a 9+1 gun. Great if your doing load testing, but fucking tanks. I also have a G20. I kept this one for a woods gun. 15+1 is pretty badass. But it's a fucking Glock, so I had to add an aftermarket barrel to shoot lead out of it so it wouldn't blow up. The Tanfoglio's are supposed to be pretty sweet. If I could get my hands on one, and liked it, I'd sell my Glock in a heartbeat.

I've got a Glock 20 G4 with a nice 5.5" LWD ported barrel and its hard to imagine anything serving up the 10mm better as an all purpose defensive gun against 2 legged and 4 legged as well as for hunting.  However, I've long lusted after this work of art that continues to be out of reach at 1500 bones...

Comically huge is a G20 with 6" Lone Wolf slide, extended barrel, and Lone Wolf comp- but it sure shoots nicely!

1006 1076

If you run out of bullets it can be utilized as a club.

A guy here locally is selling a very good condition 1076, asking 1100 for it though. What would be a reasonable price to offer, as I don't really know what they go for.

How many magazines? They're very spendy right now. 1006 were running $900 on average recently with 1 or 2 mags. I don't prefer the 1076 myself, but I ended up with an extra 1006... Keeping the one - it's downright pleasant with full power Underwood 180gr loads. Can't say the same about the G20C!

You really should get at least two mags.  Seller is prob selling mag separately.  I love my 1076!  It was literally the only firearm I refused to sell when I was broke.  I wouldn’t pay more than $900 for one in good condition w/ 1 mag.  They will never be less expensive. 1006 has a longer barrel if you want the velocity.

I got a excellent condition 1006 in it's original box with 2 mags and 2 boxes of underwood JHP bullets for $850 locally. I may have gotten a sweet deal however...

I saw a beat up 1006 at the gun show with 1 mag a dealer was trying to sell for $1100.

I did manage to pick up 2 more mags off gun broker for an ungodly amount after I bought the gun. So I have 4 mags for it. I read around about how hard the mags were to find so I decided I needed spares.

There is a new local company that is going to get a G40 blank so they can make the holster.

When I get it I will do a review.

Great price.
Easy to use and shoot.

"That trigger is a finger killer.  I shot some of my hot loads in my BIL's gun.  Never again."
You can convert to SA only with a different trigger, or keep DA/SA with an "Extreme" Eric Grauffel trigger that isn't curved as much.

I have a Glock 20, night sights - Excellent gun.  Oddly enough it will also feed and fire 40S&W without fail without any mods whatsoever.  I have even mixed 10mm and cheap Tula 40 S&W in the same mag and they all feed fine. You can feel/hear the difference n loads however.

As a woods gun, The Underwood full power loads are hard to beat.  15 rounds of magnum power and its much easier to shoot than a DA magnum revolver and place shots.
Mine hits true point of aim from the factory at 20 yards - couldn't ask for more froma woods gun.  Flexible by being able to shoot 40 S&W on the range cheapy and carry full power as an option.

PS You can modify those Glock 21 extended 27 round 45acp magazines from Korea to fit and feed in a Glock 20 - merely bend the feedlips in on each side with a mallet and anvil surface to hold the 10mm

No other 10mm will be as flexible or durable.  I do have S&W guns I love in 10mm, but they are in collection and not carry status.

EAA Witness

Steel gun, fully supported chamber, 15 shot magazine, frame mounted safety, DA/SA.

The only downside is the weak recoil spring.  Change it out to a 22 or 24 lb spring if you are going to shoot any heavy loads.

Get the Elite Match with the flatter SAO trigger. Mine was so much more comfortable to shoot with HOT loads than my G20sf was with mild loads.

I really hope it has "CENTIMETER" down the slide like the euro version. So bad ass. Id love to see a side by side with a g20 for recoil comparison due to its rotating barrel.

So hypothetically I could take a g20 and mill out the slide hole for a 45 barrel and it would work?

I only ask because I'm in the market for the 20 as well. Don't think I'd really need to get the 45 chmabering in the glock anyway as I already have 45 elswwhere., just curious.

I have a G20sf
1006
1076(FBI lettered)
two 1066's

Of them, the 1066 is my favorite, but the 1006 is the best shooter, and the easiest to get of the smiths.

The Glock 20 though is amazing for the money. a simple barrel change lets you shoot 40S&W, 9x25 Dillon and 357 sig. Just a barrel change. Nothing else. It is a very fun gun. Mine is set up 357 sig right now.

Colt Delta Elite, blued.  A couple of us enjoyed the balmy morning weather today (20 deg) to put 7 mags thru mine.  I've been slacking on loading so that's all the ammo I had, minus the two ready mags.

The Sig 10mm was on my wish list, but local dealers couldn't get their hands on any.  I got tired of waiting and ended up wasting my money paying bills.

Had a G20 but sold it because of the unsupported chamber, I saw way too many bulged cases with rounds loaded to decent power levels and figured it was a matter of time before it got all ka-boomy on me.  And yes, I know the DE chamber isn't fully supported either, but I have yet to see a case bulge from the two different DE's I've owned.

I don't know the quality of the CZ owned and made Dan Wesson Razorbacks, but they were sweet when Bob Serva owned DW.

And speaking of Bob Serva, Fusion Firearms has some very nice 10's, but they're a little pricey.

Kimber makes 10's as well, but have zero experience with them.

My dream pistol, which won't happen, would be an HK45C chambered in 10mm.  Easy to fit in the frame, the OAL's for 10mm and .45 ACP are nearly the same and 1.25" - 1.26" works for both.

As usual, a few of the GD "experts" says the 10mm is a dead cartridge.  Idjits and morans.  Expect to see them here soon.

Long time 10mm advocate. Answer depends on what its for. Ones I've owned in no particular order:

1. Glock 21/10mm conversion: it works. Gets you the added chamber support you dont get with a stock G20, not that the stock G20 is bad per se. Great defense/woods gun; lots of capacity.
2. Glock 29: Barrels so short, whats the point unless you have other 10mm guns and want a CCW. JMHO.
3. S&W autos; really good 10mm for defense, but lacking capacity and accuracy aint all that. Getting pricey too.
4. S&W 610 revolver: Big. Awesome++!! Hunting and woods carry. Can really send some hot stuff downrange with one of these. Pricey.
5. Colt Delta Elite: Its a 1911 in 10mm; old ones are hit/miss for quality, new ones are really good. Barrel isnt much supported so I keep the ammo in the medium range.
6. EAA/Tanfoglio CZ/Bren copies: quality is hit or miss. Price makes it worth the gamble.
7. AMT Javelina: Rare longgggg 1911. Horrible OOB, insane after spending a crapload of money on.

Ones I have not owned:
1. Glock G40: Big. Long. Awesome. Do want!
2. SIG P220-10: Too "new SIG" for me; sort of want.

Now, this is actually the ultimate 10mm 'pistol' IMO:
