Something green with Kawasaki on the tank.

There are some new retro bikes that look pretty bad ass.

Not bad.

I'd add:

Ducati 916
Yamaha YZF-R1

And of course, my first bike, a Honda CBR600 F2!  Gawd that thing was so slow compared to today.

I always liked the looks of the '92 Kawi ZX-7.
I'd love to have a Honda RC30 though.

What's the hook? Nostalgia for a brand, model overrides all.  How's licensing in Netherlands? You have/can get top license w/o interim experience? My euro friends have all ridden since toddlers, so I'm sure when I ask they'll give flippant replies. (Just asked, told no direct EU A Unrestricted so sounds like you'll need some interim) Assuming you're just knocking around local? If traveling ai'd have different advice.

I'd avoid 2S GP reps, more because the RZ 350 (owned) and RG 500 (friends) doesnt make me nostalgic. if our resident Estonian was still around d he could give a great deal of guidance here) I do dig RGVs

If you like the twin headlamp look, my call would be FZR. Prolly 92-93 400, but they tend to a premium. The 600 is fine tho, just not as cool for me. I'm a Yamaha guy tho, mostly. Otherwise Honda and widely sold for parts availability. How's your wrenching?

In the 90s wasnt "supersport" considered 600cc or the twins came in at 750? I had a 99 ZX7 & a 99 maybe 2000 R6(last year of carburetors). I liked the R6 better...

I peronally can ride any displacement/power bike but a 'non geezer' license holder now goes through a stepped system in NL. Last years Ive been on twist and go scooters here but was just clicking bike vids over the holidays.
Not no much interested in high speed/cutting edge handleing but just want to scratch an itch.

Cool so you have an A. If you fit I'd say Fizzer 400 or more realistically 600. Or whatever Marque makes you happy they are all pretty similar for your use. If you want something a bit more versatile, a Thundercat or Fazer might be worth a look, but def not SS. Make them more comfy tho. I don't recall for shit what was available on the Sports side in Europe 90s tho

If you'd consider something like a XTZ 750 - they are a fun to hoon on, and travel awesome with gear. Even twin lamps no access to my stuff so pulled from internet.

Check out auction results on Bring a Trailer and raresportbikesforsale as a reference. 90's and early 2000's sport bikes are rising in collectability and price. If you can find anything as close to OEM for a decent price I'd grab it quick.

Great bikes. A bit more comfy than the typical supersport but with more than enough performance for the street.

1993 red, white, blue cbr900rr, or 1995 white, purple, yellow. I had both. They were amazing back in the day.

Im told it's not much different in many part of the EU where Izzy is. Good news, it's not hard to import motorcycles from around the world.

VFR800 - Geared cams for the win

916 - Pre - Terblanche

RC51 doesn’t meet the standard, but it’s close. If not then the TL1000R.

The ubiquitous 1990s sport bike will always be the CBR600F2/3, though- especially the Smokin’ Joes as listed above.

RC51 came out in 2000.  Great bike though, I loved the sound on my '03.

If you could ever find one:

I remember everybody getting R6's in late '99 and into the 2000's, but the '98 R1 was a game changer.

It was, still is. Racing classes that is. Some people refer to all sportbikes as supersports regardless of displacement class.
