For example, could a roach take a person down if the roach was the size of a man? No weapons, devices or instruments could be used in a fight. Only insect versus human, hand to 'hand'.

Any of them.
Humans are a poor match hand to hand with animals half your size. |
Any insect the size of a human could take down any human, assuming the human is not armed.
All of them. They are all way stronger than we are pound for pound. Ever pick up a struggling beetle or watch and ant carry stuff way bigger than itself?
Have you not seen the documentry Honey I shrunk the Kids.
It would be a blood bath on the human side with most insects |
Praying Mantis would ass rape you and then bite your head off.
Even at 1/4 or 1/8th the size of a human, I bet 90% or more of the insect kingdom would destroy a human in hand to hand combat.
None of them.
Because they don't have lungs and an oxygen circulation system, if they were scaled up they would immediately start suffocating and would be dead within minutes. |

Every post so far has been correct.
ETA: except the one above me. |

Newtons 3rd law and conservation of momentum states it can take a man down regardless of size. Bug has to have the right acceleration and velocity.

Humans are essentially defenseless and weak creatures. Our only advantage, granted it’s a significant one, is our brains and the ability to create tools to defend ourselves.

Insect doesnt even have to be the size of a human to take a human out. Look at damn ticks, right one can fuck your world up. Sting from a hornet. Black widow or Brown recluse (yea not an insect) BUT. Scorpion (are these bastard insect or aracnids...)
Scaling is a bitch ya know. Would a 200lb cockroach be able to lift itself off the ground? I am damn sure it wouldn't be able to fly.
A praying mantis would rip off your head and eat your skull like a peanut M&M then slurp the rest of you down like Top Ramen.

Never watch the movie Downsized. Absolutely top 5 worst movie all time, but maybe they covered that.

If a bullet ant feels like getting shot at normal size, it would feel like getting hit by a cannon scaled to human size.

I got banned from FB today for being a 'dangerous organization' and not following 'community guidelines on violence'
I aint scared of no bug |

Giant dragon flies would 1) be awesome 2) would probably wreck everything in their path (while still looking awesome) easily.

Watch some of those bug fight videos on Youtube. I never knew how vicious some of those bugs are to each other. Nature be scary.

Praying Mantis. I don't even think they need to be human sized. Little fuckers scare me, all staring at me wanting to bite my head off.

Are We ignoring the issues With book lungs and the in efficiency of an open circulatory system causing insects larger than a a bjjout 20 lbs to be non viable ? If so humans lose BIG TIME . But if we factor in realism and such the insects can’t stand up and breath, and die if suffocation shortly after hitting bobcat size.

Ants would be terrifying if they were human size. Especially fire ants!

View Quote If you want to scale up an ant to human size, you can't keep its legs in proportion, or else it will just collapse. You need to make its legs much bigger, and more directly under its body, or else it won't even support its own weight |
