Bored and thinking about paint colors, assume there will be black stripes on all three.

Deep Ocean Blue Metallic / Stone Blue Metallic

Go Mango

British Racing Green

Depends deeply on the year of Chevelle.

I wouldn't put that green on a pre 68. The blue would look awesome on a 65/66/67

Wouldn't paint one of the early cars red though. They look...not as good.

If the body work is good, black is sexy. But if the body work is bad, black will show it all.

Green.

It is uncommon and in the 90s I had a buddy with a BRG 72 with black SS stripes (It was a 307, bench seat, column shift car). My Tacoma was faster then it but it looked really nice, made V8 noises and did burnouts so.

My 66 Buick's original color was a dark green too (sadly it had been painted 2 different colors over the years).

My 70 will probably end up as shadow gray or deep forest green.  So one of those two would be my vote.

My 67 SS was Bolero Red. It looked awesome.

I thought about Marina Blue but my buddies 66 was blue.

Original color was Grenada Gold. It was nice too.

BRB. Have to go kick myself in the ass a few times for selling it.

Black is the only color of paint it if it were a trailer queen, but it’s entirely too difficult to keep it looking nice.

Nor am I, I just see too many black cars that look like garbage because of dust and swirl marks.

Well, I may not be the best one to ask about this....

<---  note color

With black stripes, the only choice is the orange.
The others need a lighter stripe color.
If you had said white stripe, the blue is the answer.

The blue looks like a great choice, but I am not a fan of the stripes. It kills the lines on some cars, and strikes me as the visual equivalent of a huge wing on a Hyundai hatchback. Keep it classy and simple.

That doesn't look like any British Racing Green I've seen.

It should be more like this:

If we're going to go with classic GM colors, I'm going to say either...

Fathom Green:

Or Dusk Blue:

Or, if you really want street cred, Frost Green:

I’m a little partial....

Viper Red (dodge color). Yes red has been done, but it my car left the factory in cranberry red.

ETA: Orange on a ‘72 in Heavy Chevy lineage.

Black stripes won't show on the darker blues and greens. How about a factory special order color? Hugger Orange was from 1970, don't know if it was offered in your year.

I almost bought a 69' split pea green w/ blk vinyl top in 1984. But for a 1972, this green with the black vinyl top:

I’d probably pick the blue with white stripes.

But I saw an orange 1964 Vett today. It looked pretty good. It might do good on the Chevelle.

Do not pick green please.

The GoMango in the OP doesn't look right to me.  Looks too red.

This is the color I knew as GoMango (not my pic, but I had the same car).
