I was waiting for Perry to show up for quite a bit of the show, so I IMDBed that episode and found out Raymond Burr was sick in the hospital for a month or so. Other actors took over the role of the lawyer for those episodes. I couldn't find any explanation of his illness. He did have a cameo or two in a hospital bed talking on the phone to Betty, so he wasn't too ill to be on camera. Maybe a prelude to his wheelchair in Ironside?
