Went to do laundry only to discover that out of four machines in the room, the soap dispenser was empty on one (and there was a ton of what looked like mud inside the drum), and the soap dispenser didn't work on the two I tried first. I'll have to get on maintenance to fix that shiz.

In other news the Japanese GP race will be on again tomorrow at 1900, so I don't have to stay up past my bedtime tonight.

Chicken slaughter day 2.0. Rest of the chickens in the cooler.
Then ballet rehearsal. Then a birthday party. Grocery shopping in the midst of that. Busy day. |

Did my good deed for the weekend, called and reported the defects in the laundry room. There are multiples around the complex but that is one of the biggest and having three out of four machines down isn't good.

That sucked, and I hated it. |

My good deeds were rebalancing my mom's tires, and Wodstock's coworkers truck tires. He's got 25k on his Treadwright Wardens, and they have 14/32" left on them. Not bad.

Couple of the little geniuses used to wash sneakers and I was hard pressed to break them of that habit. The older one living with us now while he gets on his feet doesn't remove the pads from his kids' football gear before washing unless reminded. |

I check our spares periodically and fill them, but I think for most it's a case of out of sight, out of mind. Plus they probably figure they'll just call AAA if they need it.

Quoted: When I came out to my car, I found a F150 parked in front of me mere inches from my front bumper (they had backed in). Had I been hit I would have seen how sharp this SOG knife is...No reason for that sort of thing. Trying to decide if I want to go hang by the pool, but sure as anything as soon as I do the heavens will open. Going to see if they will reair the Japanese GP. If the PURE, unfiltered in-the-moment JOY of a wriggling puppy doesn't melt your heart, you are fuckin' DEAD inside. I know people who are dead inside. I don't get it.

View Quote How many people that you don't know do you trust to know to use said camera properly? Or, that it was installed correctly from the Ford factory? There is no valid reason for parking so close to another vehicle when there are other spots available. I should add that I never park all the way into a space with the Miata so I don't have to worry about getting rear ended by someone who thinks the spot is empty. So that person was parked into my spot (hence, the next person's as well). |

Had the blackpowder pistol class today. Could get the revolver to work (wedge refused to go in) so we used single shot percussion and a flintlock. They really loved the flintlock and sometimes there was a noticeable delay between the flash and the boom! We had one misfire and after several attempts to get it to fire (there was flash but we wiped down the pan/frizzen, checked the flint) and finally resorted to a C02 which didn't work. The old fashion stuck ball remover was used and pulled the ball out. Worm brought out the patch and when the powder refused to come out, broke out the powder and cleared the barrel. Wiped down the barrel, reloaded and handed the gun to the student who had a big grin when it finally went boom.

View Quote Thanks for the tip, I'm not so much of a fan to where I would want to spend that money on it. MotoGP maybe. Main problem I have with anything like this is the amount of time I spend away from home. I don't get invested in stuff any more because I miss so much. Internet on the ship isn't fast enough to stream. |
