Either you or someone you know.
There's a guy at my church whose company will remain unnamed here... he's an explosives engineer... he gets paid to figure out how to blow stuff up, then he goes into the field to do it! THAT is the coolest job in the world! |
|
I once billed a customer for time spent fetching parts... riding my motorcycle.
|
|
My wife's dad was an AF PJ in the 80s until his death doing what he loved (HALO mobile training team).
|
|
Anthony Bourdain has a pretty cool job.
I would probably say a professional athlete though. Make eight figures, work four months a year... playing a game. |
|
Messed up world when someone can make $25mil a year and not make this list.

Define "coolest". The most fun, while making a great salary. The kind of stuff the rest of us would pay to do. Testing new products from, say, Magpul, Colt, DPMS, and Tannerite would be a great example. |

Not me, but I work with Pararescuemen and airiel gunners. They actually get paid (nicely, too might I add) to sit on one of othe most badass choppers ever built and shoot shit with a full auto 50 cal, or a dillon minigun at 100 RPS. I'd kill for that chance.....

Id say eating and playing with food while getting paid is pretty fun. Going to work and having to taste test wagyu can be such hard work. Now if I could only combine my love of food and guns.....gun range restaurant.......

Tom Brady.
Starting QB, Super Bowl rings, supermodel wife. That fucker has the life. |

Quoted: I'd give up damn near anything to be an astronaut. same here like all folks say as they get older "If I only knew then what I know now" it's a shame that I will probably never go to space

There are jobs I would much rather want to do, since I could care less about tv or broadcasting, but they all involve a large degree of real work. I would do anything to fly f-22's for aliving like what others ahve said, but almost no one on the planet has the awesomeness : lack of 'acutal work' style of work than clarkson. |
|
I've been employed in cryogenics. Including liquid helium. I would say that is about as cold as you can get here on Earth .
No, not that silly brain/body freezing cryonics bullshit. But actual USEFUL stuff. You know all those MRIs in the medical field? Cooled by liquid helium. Surrounded by super insulation which is then surrounded by liquid nitrogen. And more super insulation. Layers of aluminized Mylar, aluminized vermiculite and existing in a deep vacuum of 10-8 Torr. All fully annealed 18-8 stainless steel. 4.2 Kelvin. -452.11 F. Ice, ice baby. |

I do!!! IT, and I support facilities in the middle of the AZ desert and mountains.. Its pretty awesome.

Came to say all three. Between them all, they have done more of the coolist shit than I can imagine. |

Although Hugh Heffner has had a pretty sweet gig since what the late 50's/early 60's? |

Completely subjective. For me it would be flying fighters.
But some people would hate that. |

Not me or anyone I know.
Is there such a thing as a "cool' job? Yea, didn't think so. |
|
I put big bullets in big guns and shoot them from the side of a plane at bad guys. I thoroughly enjoy it.

"A" list actor. Get paid mega millions to play make believe. People make their living by fawning over you. No matter what you look like, hot women will sleep with you. Your words can affect political change, and you don't even have to hold office. Even though you are wealthy, you rarely have to pay for clothes, cars, meals, hotels.

I have a friend that gets paid to do what, under any other circumstance, would be illegal.
|

When I was growing up, my dad had the coolest job. He flew F-4s as a part time fighter weapons instructor for the Kansas air guard.
I would ask him about his day, he'd say, "we did some dog fighting, then dropped some bombs, and did some areobatics the way back to the base." One day he was particularly proud, he managed to do a hammerhead stall in an F-4! He said it was tricky with a fighter because of the balance. It was hard to tell what way it would drop, sometimes over on it's back, sometimes it would nose over. He said the trick was to stomp on the rudder as the plane was loosing airspeed. I have trouble imagining a cooler job than that. |

Thanks to my chem class I finally get to understand a bit of what you are talking about. |

Mine...I help build wings for a large aerospace company flying is soooo underrated! |
|
It started when My son enlisted it the Marines and it went on for the 10 years he was in the Marine Corp. I would get a call out of the blue and hear. " Hey Dad guess what I just shot ? You should have been here. It was a Blast."
|

I got paid to ride around in submarines –– they even fed me!

I work with 18-21 year old half naked girls every day... I'm not complaining...
|
|
Well I used to fly on the back of a PAVELOW and shoot at shit while taking special people to special places. That was officially the coolest job in the world.
Now I sit around all day and make machine guns of various types. I gotta admit Ive been really lucky |
