Always liked the kippers and smoked herring the most.
Just had some herring on a bed of raw spinach, with a little apple cider vinegar and diced pickles, and it was a decent change from the usual.
Anyone got any other uses for this stuff other than eating it on crackers, or as bait?

I keep a supply of canned sardines on hand at all times.  Good protein snack.  I’m interested too if there’s another way of eating these other than putting them on crackers.

I like em all - sardines, anchovies, smoked oysters, whatever. Never had canned squid.

Throw a couple sardines and mustard on white bread, quick, easy and tasty.

I take a tin or two to work several times a week.
If I am feeling  fancy I try to find a fork.

Piece of rye bread then a spread of your sauce of choice, bunch of thin sliced onion and tomato, then fillets and finally topped with cheese. Throw under a broiler and enjoy the best farts ever.

Canned whole squid is awesome.

Be warned though, it will perfume a whole break room and your co workers will not be amused.

Couple places I worked they requested that I eat outside, seriously.

I enjoy a wide variety of canned fishes. I'm partial to them on crackers with cheese, an olive, and tobasco.

Sardines and whatever hot sauce I have around at the moment. The ones with jalapenos saves some hassle. Mustard once in a while.

Smoked oysters rock.

Nah, I won't do it at work. At home when my wife is gone. That's usually when the sardines come out too.

She doesn't always appreciate my culinary habits.

Smoked oysters or smoked octopus.  I don't eat either in front of other people just as a courtesy and I won't share.

Anchovies, I keep a few tins around and use that all the time.  Also, tuna, if that counts?

The local Amazon grocery store does their smoking in house. I tried the octopus and it was really good. You might want to try it too.

always have some around at home and work.

Just discovered spicy fried Filipino sardines last year.  real good! 555 brand.

Canned tuna is about it for me.
Although I can eat all of the pickled herring in the pantry.

Yep.

I've downed many a can of sardines, smoked oysters, kippers, etc.

Love that stuff.

Love trying different ones.

This Aldi brand I have right now, also comes in mustard and in mango.

I enjoy smoked oysters. I am not big on sardines/herring/mackerel/kippers but I love anchovies. Canned tuna and canned salmon are both good.

ETA: Big fan of oysters, tuna, kippers, sardines etc of all types and flavors. Sadly intake is down on shellfsh as it seems to be one of my gout triggers.

Sardines or sprat are about as exotic as I get in canned marine life.

The jars of small smoked sprat are much more tasty than the three-per-can dollar tree sardines.

Octopus are a no-go for me. They're too intelligent.

I pretty much like any fish/seafood.

Never had squid in a can though.

Man the fishing out here sucks. In WI I used to eat walleye, bluegill, and crappie all the time. And the morels, and asparagus.....mmmmmm

Where do you find pickled herring?
Maybe I overlook it, but I never see it in the tuna and sardine section.

I like sardines occasionally and smoked oysters. Octopus is good too.
Any of them smoked is even better.

The best I’ve had were sardines packed in Dijon mustard, had them on a captains wafers with cholula. Tasted like spicy boiled crawfish.

In the refrigerated section, usually near the meats.

It comes in sour cream and also just in water.

Usually in one of the cool cases in the seafood section.

I add them to quick soups alot.

Especially in the woods.

Miso packet, tin of fish, powdered Peanutbutter, dash of quick oats and hot sauce.

Smoked oysters aren’t too bad.  The rest of that stuff I’m not brave enough to try.  I’ve had sardines several times but they are always way to fishy for my liking.

I like smoked oysters, sardiens. I tried squid in a can once, never again. It was like trying to eat a wetsuit. You could not bite it into, and chewed on it forever

I have dozens of cans of Wild Planet and Crown Prince sardines in the cupboard, I've settled on those being pretty good. I just drain, put some hot sauce on them and eat them right out of a can.

Refrigerated area, maybe near bacon or horseradish jars.  Other stores in the fish monger area off to the side.
