I have one of these put away somewhere. It was awesome back in the day. . .I just looked and am shocked at how much these things are going for these days.

I had one exactly like this one.  Lots of cool features not associated with other boomboxes.

My old box is still on duty down in the shed.  Always on, just waiting for the electricity to be switched on.

I had a smaller one which could tune in police band. It was great until I went on a road trip to Florida, and then across the south on I10. It was placed on the deck in the rear window of the car and melted the plastic into a modern art sculpture.

Yep...  Stupid fad, so is/was the huge gold chains.  Oh and don't forget the stolen hood ornament worn around the neck.

Mine also in my wife's office. I saw one in the Army so big it had it's own wheels and handle. Guy pulled it like a wagon

Stayed at a Retro Motor Inn in Flagstaff, they had the basic boom box in each room and they had three custom mix tapes you could listen to of curated artists next to them.

I like the Musibaby bluetooth speaker paired with my cell phone.
Both rechargeable and it sounds great, doesn't take up much room or expensive "D" batteries that don't last long.

Great for working on the boat.

We used another term instead of ghetto.

I felt like a king when I bought a dual cassette player from the pawn shop with my first real job pizza hut money.  It had an actual EQ, six speakers, and high speed dubbing.  I made some kick ass mixed tapes.  When my then girl friend now wife went to governors school for singing I threw Andrew Dice Clays stand up on one side and all of our favorite songs on the other side.

I still have two of these that I use for camping or garage use.
I don't use the CD deck much anymore, just the radio or the Aux Input.

Luckily this one also has a 110 plug.
I still have about 100 headbanger cassette tapes from the 80s.
From Suicidal Tendencies to Babylon AD.

Of course I still like old school cool, this old system will still rattle the neighbor’s windows, it may not go to 11, but it doesn’t need to!

Here's me posing in front of 21 out of 74 in my friend's bedroom in Guam.  The rest were under restoration in another room.  I think he's got all 4 walls covered now.

Many nights I’d sit outside my parents house as a kid and hear the boom boom clip clop of an Amish buggy coming down the road with a boom box in it.
The cool ones had a boom box and fuzzy dice. My dad would almost be in tears from laughing so hard.
