Here’s the thing. John Dutton would never name a child Kayce.

None of the characters are relatable; they’re all exaggerated.

It almost seems like they’re ripping off Thor. Kayce is Thor, he’s a super duper warrior who spends more time with another group of humans (his wife on the reservation) than his regular family (Thor with Earth and Natalie Portman). His brother Jamie is adopted from an enemy and always trying to usurp everything for his own gain (Loki). John is Odin, who is laissez-faire until things get out of control. Beth isn’t quite the really bad sister. She’s still under control of John, but if crossed she could go scorched earth and do everyone in.

I've gotten through the first season and Rip would be the only character that I care for. Lloyd seems alright , but more of a bit character in so far.

Beth is annoying and reminds me of a few skanks I knew from my bar whoring days. Most of the Indian actors are horrible overall.

I have not gotten into like some other series like Soprano's or Breaking Bad , but we will keep watching.

Kayce is whiny and always looks like he's about to cry, which is weird because he can be a badass.
I think the whole Rip/Beth tough act is overplayed and tiresome. That bitch wakes up mad at the world. Who would want to be around someone like that?

He’s just a classic badass that is kinda the good guy, but definitely not bothered by doing some bad shit if he thinks it’s “what’s right”. I think most guys that watch the show identify with that. Hell I named my youngest boy Rip!

If you liked that, you're going to love the brawl between Summer and Beth. At one point Summer kicks Beth in the crotch. It was slightly painful to watch and she in fact pays for it later when mounting a horse to go on the "Gathering". The fight ends when it turns into a slugfest when Rip intervenes.
