Carter had an opportunity to nip Islamic terrorism in the bud but, instead, he did the opposite and financed it with US taxpayer dollars.

I'm in my early 40's, and Obungo by far was the worst I've seen in my life time.

To be fair, none of the presidents in my life have been that great.  Reagan was a C+ president at best, with the rest being awful or worse.

Voted Carter but it's really a toss up. I remember the long gas lines and the Iranian hostage crisis. He did a crap load of damage in only one term. FBHO has two terms to screw up the county and did so in overall different ways. It was hard to decide who fucked us up more.

Of course, Nixon created the EPA . . .

First Place:  Bathhouse Barry 0.  Not an American but held the office.  Sabotaged the nation by doubling the national debt from $10 trillion to $20 trillion.  Furthered Dubya's work of gutting the Constitution with the NDAA '12.  Help create ISIS.
Third Place: Dubya.  Gave us Heimat Sicherheitsdienst and its crotch groping Touch Some Arse.  A lot of your Constitutional protections evaporated.  Gave us two unwinnable wars.
Second Place: Bubba.  Shipped our jobs overseas via free trade.  Gave China a lot of our military technology in exchange for campaign contributions for his reelection.  Failed to regulate derivatives.  Allowed for the repeal of Glass-Steagall.

If I had more poll options I would have added more names and gone back further in time....certainly there are guys in our history whose failure would 'trump' the modern era guys.

I left of Reagan because even with the folks who will (and should) complain about his weak position on guns and the 2A, there is no way he would come in as the worst modern US President.

So have at it....feel free to write in your vote in your post.

What do you consider the modern era?  Post-war?  Post-Victorian?  Turn of the 20th century to today? Starting further back?

I'd say that Johnson and FDR were both far worse than anyone on your list.  Wilson was horrid as well.  All three make Obama, Clinton, and Carter look like chumps.  Eisenhower did his share during Suez to really make a fucked up impact on the world, the latest effect being the effort to expropriate white South Africans of their land.

Reagan, for all of his faults, was probably the best post-war President we've had.  In modern times more broadly, Coolidge was probably the best.  Certainly the last full-blown Rightist in office.  Interestingly, when he ran for election after finishing out Harding's term, his Democratic opponent was pretty much as far to the Right as he was, the last time we'd see that in American history.

The fact that Obama signed spending bills that double the national debt in just 8 years is something we will never recover from.
Almost as much debt in eight then in the previous 240.

As much as I can't stand that brown marmorated stink bug FBHO, Carter is the shittiest Pres in that list. Many here are too young to have lived through the malaise period in American history. High inflation, the energy crisis, double digit interest rates that tried to kill the economy, high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis all put him on the top of that shitheap. Obunghole tried to be the worst, but Congress largely kept him in check.

Jimmy Carter!  At least the other ones listed had a vision for America even it was a fucked up one that goes against everything America should be. It was Carter that said Americans would never have it as good as their parents did, His solution to the Arab oil embargo was you to put on god damn sweater, his answer to Iran taking Americans hostage was to try one damn cluster fuck of a failed rescue mission than just say oh well we give up. Screw that inept peanut farmer, his drunk ass retarded brother Billy, his worthless wife Rosalynn and their three inbred hick looking offspring.

The absolute worst has to be FDR, he foisted more communist/socialist crap on to this country
while clapping seals approved of it.

A very close second notwithstanding would be Jimmy Carter, followed very closely by a dog eating,
black liberation theology, anti constitution, stuttering Slobama.

Maybe it's because I wasn't alive at the time, but I'm not sure why Carter even ranks on that list.

Carter, as much of a POS as he is, was not even close to being as bad as Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Obunghole, and was arguably less destructive than W Bush.

His Fed Chairman Paul Volcker did the right thing by jacking up interest rates after we decided to print a shitload of money to paper over the expenses of Vietnam and the War on Poverty under LBJ, and that's primarily why the economy was shit.

It's unfortunate that we'll never have a Fed chairman with balls who isn't afraid to allow the market to correct itself.

If Trump's Fed Chairman raised interest rates to nearly 20%, you best believe shit would get real.

Christopher Hitchens, himself a huge liberal, wrote this about Carter in Slate magazine:

"The Carter administration could not tell a friend from an enemy. His combination of naivete and cynicism  from open-mouthed shock at Leonid Brezhnev's occupation of Afghanistan to underhanded support for Saddam in his unsleeping campaign of megalomania  had terrible consequences that are with us still. It's hardly an exaggeration to say that every administration since has had to deal with the chaotic legacy of Carter's mind-boggling cowardice and incompetence."

obama far and away the worst ever.  Most of his actions only make sense in the context of his deliberately destroying the things that make this country great and did his best to sow dissension and division.

Carter was a boob who made bad decisions for the wrong reasons but I don't believe he was malicious.  obama was malicious.

Carter's ambassador to the UN said that the Ayatollah would be remembered by history as a saint. This is why he refused to support the Shah and aw,golly, got taken by some awful surprise by that hostage crisis. The same idiot guided Carter to guarantee that a former strong ally would fall to Communists in Nicaragua. He also convinced him that Bishop Abel Muzorewa was a fascist and that Mugabe was,to paraphrase "a gentle man who would never use a gun on anyone".

Andrew Young was the most evil American in modern history though I doubt more than maybe 15% of Arf knows who he is,let alone the decades long impact of his malfeasance. Of course, any criticism of him would be met with " but he was friends with Dr King you racist bastard!" so that's irrelevant I suppose.

Obama did very little other than continue the Bush administration,to be blunt. He is hated due to recent memory but will have little to no lasting legacy. His failures are not at all of the same scope as Carter's and there, for example, would never have been an Iranian nuke deal had the US opposed the Shia lunatics rather than supporting them and a strong American government may have given the USSR pause in invading Afghanistan rather than the message Carter sent that the US was willing to watch every Soviet supported insurgency win.

My insurance premiums went from $240.00 a month excellent plan to $780.00 a month for a catastrophic plan.  Military decimated, open season on cops, looting, globalist Soros puppet.  Most people don't realize how close this Country came to disaster.  One more term and the Country would be tits up.  Obama gets my vote.
