Quoted: Here's a modern day fad IMO: digital instrument clusters. People ooh and ahh over the graphics but it's really just the automakers being cheap/lazy smacking an LCD on the dash. Look at the BMW iX: https://cdn.carbuzz.com/gallery-images/2023-bmw-ix-dashboard-carbuzz-1025521-1600.jpg That's an $80+k vehicle and the dash looks like shit. View Quote It does look like shyte. And a non-round steering wheel is a no-go for me. I like to let the front wheels self-straighten after cornering. That steering wheel is the automotive version of motorboating without the fun. |

Texas lifted trucks that can fit a 36-40 inch tire but run like a 30inch tire on a 22x12 wheel.
That no sidewall Chip Foose bullshit sidewall with bluetooth 4x4 missing front drive shaft. Pure faggotry in motion combined with the camber gang idiots imitating Japanese trends. |

View Quote we had a mid '80's Ford Taurus with a digital dash, tach, speedo and some other stuff in the dash was digital. Been a few cars here and there with them for over 4 decades. Nowadays I don't think its a fad more than just being pushed by makers as electronics are favorably viewed by manufactures. Sort of the natural evolution of over teched cars. |

Looks like a drunken monkey at Century had a worn out, very loose compass and drew a circle, then his methed out brother went over to the bandsaw and cut it out-after losing an eye. |

View Quote Yep, it’s cheaper to use software for everything than it is to use buttons, and knobs. I absolutely hate it as a trend. Hopefully more automakers will move away from it like Mazda is doing. |

The problems start when people put cheap replacement LEDs into housings not made for them, lift or level their trucks without adjusting the headlights, or some combination. |

Quoted: On low-power front-wheel drive cars, sure. But spoilers do make sense on rear-wheel drive cars with a lot of power. View Quote Vinyl tops had a reason. Back in the day they put them on to cover the area where the quarter met the c pillar so they didnt have to fill and smooth out where they met perfectly. Just weld them together, slap some filler on and glue the vinyl down, voila finis. Fads I want to see gone. Illegal lighting, illegal tinted windshields (isnt legal anywheres to have it below the AS-1 line), brodozers. |

Quoted: GM trucks recalled due to insanely bright headlights. Yeah they were recalled due to using retarded level deer spot lights for headlights ...now lets start pulling over those who ignored their recall and or making their owners pay big time time all accidents they cause by ignoring their safety recall. Otherwise I have some 8 million candle watt spotlights I'm mounting on my car and placing right in the fucking oncoming drivers face. Lets play. View Quote I looked this up as I have a Sierra, it appears the daytime driving lights could stay on when the headlights are on, reprograming the affected BCM fixes this, it has nothing to do with the headlight candle power. I prefer the rear mounted torches for various offenses, tailgating, not allowing me to merge onto the highway, ect... |
