I am absolutely god awful at figuring out what to buy for people in general. Gift(s) for our (almost) 1 year old daughter? Complete vapor lock.

Any ideas folks? And let's keep the budget reasonable please, less than, say, $100-150.

Wait'll she's about 5. Then when she graduates from college, you'll have a year to recuperate before the second one starts.

She's 1 y.o., she ain't going to remember anything lol.

Take a good photo with her for her (and you) to look at when she's older. Take the money you would have spent and start a small fund for her, give it to her when she's old enough as a rainy day fund or something.

Dress her up in some kind of Christmas themed outfit, and take good quality photos. Also, get a few books to read to her nightly. The idea of a 529 or similar plan is a good one as well!

She won’t remember anything about this Christmas. Make the memories count so you can look back later in life with her. I feel my daughter received too many toys for her first Christmas, and still feel that way about her 2nd lol. Some days I wish instead of her getting toys from family she would get more money to her 529 fund(I contribute monthly).

Books and read to the kiddos every day. I didn't buy my kids anything. They are spoiled by the grandparents and everyone else.

The entire house is a playroom.  It's tidy,  but there's some toys in every room.

Books are a good thought, we already read every night before bed.

I like the mutual fund or 529 fund idea as well, hadn't thought of that.

This is mostly something I can give my wife an idea for, I'm well aware she won't remember anything yet and doesn't need a ton more toys (my in laws are buying tons already).

Lifetime hunting/fishing license if there is a big discount for doing so before they are a year old in your state. For nc, it is a no brainer.

S&W M&P15-22, and lots of short 10 and normal 25 round mags.

And a box big enough for her to crawl into, because that's what she'll enjoy playing with.

But if you want normal toys then the Tugboat, and the Shape Sorter.

As a dad of two daughters I would recommend an edged weapon.  Something like a halberd or a falchion.
