Why in the world does it cost so much to rescue/adopt a dog? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I still think the majority of the people on this site are pretty god damn good people. People have offered to pay for everything for this coon. I receive IM's telling me to just say what the vet bill, food, whatever costs and people will take care of it. I haven't taken a dime from anyone but I'm sure if I wanted to people here really would take care of it. That's really not what I expected when I started that thread Yup. People covered almost all the costs associated with the three Labs I pulled out of the local shelter a while back. I could not have rescued them had they not done that, as the total cost was right at or slightly over $1000. How is your little bugger doing, anyway? Why in the world does it cost so much to rescue/adopt a dog? Shelter fees + vaccinations + spay/neuter + boarding fees + transportation costs = $$$$ None of them could leave for their new homes right away, and I dang sure wasn't bringing an adult dog of unknown background into my home with the imp and my dogs, so they had to be boarded. Wise decision on my part, as one of them ended up being food aggressive. |

Why in the world does it cost so much to rescue/adopt a dog? Cuz the govt got involved. At least that's what happened here. I looked at rescuing one, but it was going to cost more than buying from a breeder. When I was a kid, people used to sit in front of the supermarket with a box of puppies/kittens. Give em away for free. |

I looked at rescuing one, but it was going to cost more than buying from a breeder. It absolutely can cost that much. Well, granted mine was a reject of a litter from hunting parents. They didn't have a pedigree a mile long. |

Results are up. Top 10 finish!!!! Nice job!! My first top ten finish was because there was only 9 of us in the class. This time there were 12. http://25.media.tumblr.com/a1c8d8f233128e6ec21f31b7350fe815/tumblr_meuadalei91qfzgyio1_500.gif The most disturbing thing in that movie was the nudity. |
