I’ve heard this mulitple times...
You can visit a gun range in Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia and rent an RPG/M16/M79 and shoot a live cow. Seems like gun store, I’m overweight, navy seal, my military career is top secret and sealed, total bullshit. |
|
Heard the same thing from dudes who deployed in similar SE Asia countries.
|
|
I suspect that if you paid for the cow, there's plenty of places in WY that might let you do the same thing, -minus the RPG aspect.
|
|
If you have enough money I'm sure you can shoot a cow with whatever you want in Vietnam.
|
|
This may have been confirmed by one of the team members here, who was working in Thailand at the time.
IIRC, the price was $50 American dollars. |
|
youve been able to do the grenades for quite some time now. its only natural that they would evolve to rpg.
the locals come and gather the scraps for dinner. |

They will probably charge you even less to let your pathetic ass pull the wings off a fly.

Shooting a Rocket Launcher at a cow (Cambodia) In Cambodia the military lets you shoot a rocket launcher at a cow. You can also shoot pigs and ducks with your choice of weapons including a grenade. To shoot a cow with a rocket launcher it costs: $100 american for the rocket, $300 to buy the cow and an extra $100 for a hundred rounds with a K-57 Russian Machine gun (in case you miss the cow with the rocket launcher). In this video you can see the cow at the top of the screen. The shooter missed which explains why he is mad at the end of the video. The cow shot by rocket |

Member here was going to do ot, but I think they were in Cambodia. Member inspected the RPG and deemed it unsafe to shoot, so he passed.
Bit, ues, you can do it. I know for sure you can do it in Cambodia. |

The thread from back in the day gave rise to one of my favorite lines on arfcom, in reply to someone who said it didn’t seem fair - “Cows have had just as long to develop shoulder-fired anti-tank weapons as people have, it’s perfectly fair.”

There is a show on Netflix called dark tourist where he did this. He stopped before actually shooting the cow, but he had it all arranged.

Oh, George, not the livestock! |

Would rather use the rpg on a sounder and make cows game animals.

While an amusing idea...I don’t see any reason to do it outside of a video game...
N64 South Park lets you shoot cows at people. |

I have not seen it. I have been asked if I wanted to do it. The cows they use are unfit for human consumption due to disease or other defect, and would be put down, anyway. There was also a place that would let you shoot at chickens with an AK. That place got too expensive. The price rapidly increased for ammo from 25 cents a round, to 50, to a dollar even when shooting at paper targets. 7.62x54R through a PKM was double that. One of my cousins lived in Cambodia for a year, he shot AKs and an RPK but didn't want to spend the money on the RPG. He said no cows where he was but that they told him they could take him to another range if he wanted to. I've been to Thailand a couple of times and to Laos but never heard of it in either of those places.

View Quote Thailand has some wild af tourist attractions, but guns and RPG’s aren’t one of them. Cambodia on the other hand most definitely does have ranges where you can shoot an RPG at a cow. It’s outside of Phnom Penh. It is not $50 cheap. But you can throw grenades shoot AK’s PKM, RPG’s at various livestock (chickens, pigs, goats, cow whatever they have atm, but you’re gonna pay white-guy prices). |

I'll be honest, if I were already in Vietnam, and some legit looking street vendor was all "Shoot cow with lockit rauncher only hundit American!" I'd have to think about it for a second.
I mean yeah, it's kinda stupid... But how often do you get that kind of chance? |
|
I could probably arrange for this in the states if someone wanted to pay for it but it would be cheaper to fly somewhere else.
|
|
I think that's Cambodia. I don't think you can in Vietnam, although they do have machine gun/RPG rentals and don't give a damn about the lives of animals. They steal and eat their neighbors' pet dogs. You could probably shoot a cow with an RPG, if you're willing to pay.

Seems like kind of a waste of good meat, and a cow is worth more than $100 over there, so it would be a hell of a lot more expensive. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I dated a girl long ago who's dad was over there during the war. One night "something" tripped the wires and all hell broke loose. Hours later at sunrise, there were about a dozen cows lying dead. Between Claymores, the "60" and other small arms, it was bad. They "kind of" wondered why there was no incoming fire, some though they got lucky and were effective in countering the incursion.

RPG Cow Shooting sounds like a good time. Just have some Cobra Venom/Blood Liquor shots ready too.
