It's a 16" build with a Superior Barrels "lightweight" profile .223 Wylde chamber, harris bipod, PDW stock, and a TA33-8. Not much I can't do with that rifle. Honestly though, against most of those countries, I'd just wait until dark to put on my PVS7's and walk out. |

I have my Ruger 10/22 Takedown in its bag with a mounted scope, spare magazines and an extra barrel. Also in the bag is my Ruger SR22 along with its extra magazines and a few hundred rounds of CCI.
Nice, convenient, compact package. |

You lost me at walking. Bug in or bug out a basic AR w TA33 optic.

So based on a lot of the replies I can only assume I don't have to be able to read or comprehend the OP.
I would take a really fast tank in God mode and drive in a straight line. |

Literally any of my rifles (doubley so for AR patterns) will suffice.
I can always bootstrap using scavenged enemy kit. |

Rough one. I’d be using a different rifle to get out of my city than I would once I got out to the boonies.
If I could only grab one, it’d be my 16” lightweight with an LPVO. |

I'm going to contrast this with what I am seeing overseas right now, since they are doing their own Red Dawn thing.
Firstly, you have to bug out. Your house has been shelled, your supplies are gone, and the city is under attack. Secondly, there are no friendlies, per se. Rooskies on one side, and the Neo Nazi criminal element on the other. Shit sandwich. Point in your favor. They are all spread a little thin. Most you might encounter is two, maybe three. They may or may not have a heavy vehicle, but you're not attacking that. You are waiting for them to dismount. Your cheap ass vortex magnifier is toast, good thing you have that lifetime warranty, right? You need this to survive. Attached File You have to hide it. Attached File Most of this stuff will disappear into a backpack, or under a coat. SBR would not be my first choice, but I am not staying to fight. Trying to get to safety, maybe to the mountains. Sucks, but it is what it is. |

I'm having a hard time thinking of why I'm bugging out. But even if I do, what I take would depend on the threat. Wife and kids are my first concern....and where are we going? Are we driving or walking? Are we fighting another country or is this some terrorist attack? Also, are we picking from what I have, or can I pick anything?
|
|
Bug out to where? I'm already here! If the Russian chinese koreans are here...... Its because they're lost as fk ??
But I guess if I have to play and play by the rules.... Ar-10 with its big supressor in 6.5 creedmoor with idk whatever scope is currently on it. Some Nikon I think. Beause the only place to go from here is up into the mountains and from up there I can see the whole valley. |
|
Suppressed Ruger 10-22 with a 4x14 scope. I can hunt with it, plus I could use it to acquire a larger caliber firearm later.

Game time decision between the BCM MK2 BFH 11.5" Carbine, the BCM MK2 BFH 14.5" Mid Length (ELW) setup as a recce rifle with a LPVO, or the 10.3" Colt Monolithic LE6945CK. The Colt's a heavy bastard, and I wouldn't be super excited about having a shit ton of picatinny rails tearing shit up, and getting caught on everything.
An AK might not be a bad choice considering all the loaded magazines I'd be able to pick up along the way. There's also the PSAV-9 with the benefit of being able to carry twice as much ammo. The PSA KS-47 might be the best choice with all the benefits of the AR platform, and the added benefit of being able to use pick up AK magazines. I'll undoubtedly be killed standing in front of my safes trying to decide which rifle to grab, or in front of my closet trying to decide which camo pattern to wear. Whoever shoots me in the back will feel like they won the lottery when they start going through all my shit. |
|
Meh, it depends, if I am doing this here in Alaska, well I am taking my ELR rifle and my Glock 20..Stateside...likely the same..

Quoted: 16" 5.56 AR with LPVO. If you have to do everything, it will do everything, just not QCB as well. And I'll be bringing a .22lr conversion kit so I can carry a ton more ammo for subsistence hunting. View Quote Interesting, but a mag of subsonic 5.56 would take up less room and do the same thing. I'd go with my primary AR. 16" PSA pencil barrel upper on a KP15, Leupold 2.5x20, Streamlight Polytac and a sling. Since my escape will be more of a hobble the light weight is nice. I built a 12.5" lightweight AR for this purpose.
It has a small ACOG right now. But I could possibly switch to an PA Prism on it. |

I use my General Purpose build AR15, which is a BCM 16" MCMR upper and lower with the mid length gas system and hammer forged barrel.
It uses a Steiner P4xi LPVO with an offset Aimpoint T1. I also have a Steiner DBAL A3 on it and Surefire M300V. The Steiner P4xi is a good LPVO, it's rugged and if I did run out of batteries in the field it's still real nice to use even with just daylight conditions. The Aimpoint runs for years, but if that got taken down due to EMP or something I'd still have the LPVO to work with I just couldn't practically passively aim with Night Vision, but if all electronics were taken down my PVS14 probably isn't working anyways. I don't like ACOGs, the eye relief on them sucks IMO. Otherwise, they'd make a good SHTF optic, but I can't get past that shitty eye relief. Red dots are fine, but magnifiers add weight and without them my 44 year old eyes aren't super sharp at distance anymore. The LPVO is a good to go option in my humble opinion even if they're not as rugged as an ACOG. In terms of barrel length, I think 16" is a good OAL for field and urban. It does leave some want when it comes to tight quarters and vehicle ops, but there is a trade off for everything. I think having an AR is the way to go. One of the biggest issues in a conflict and I think we're going to see in the AARs from the Ukrainians and Russians is IFF. A person's weapon is a real easy way to identify them as friend or foe when a lot of people may have very similar camo uniforms on. Plus, being unbale to predict what invading force will be using (will it be Chinese, Russian, someone else) I don't think you can depend on one type of enemy weapon for resupply so your next best bet is what is most common domestically. |
